Story

Artisan restaurant has an understated ambience that combines New England tavern warmth with 18th century Scandinavian design. Chef and Partner Frederic Kieffer’s desire to support sustainable agriculture is shown through seasonally inspired, farm to table menus as well as his contemporary approach to New England classics. The restaurant offers dining in the tavern as well as the relaxed yet elegant main dining room. Artisan also has a beautiful outdoor garden and a full service bar, a perfect place to enjoy dining al fresco.

Definitely on the higher end of the spectrum - but the food & service was top notch! Extensive wine & cocktail list. We enjoyed the grilled octopus appetizer, but the octopus kind of got lost in the other fixins (lettuce, raisins, other stuff). The octopus was perfectly grilled, just wish there was more of it. For the entree I was extremely satisfied with the lamb shank. Meat fell off the bone - so tender! Underneath the roasted veggies added a beautiful crunch and they were very in-season fresh. Ambiance is tres classy with a touch of posh. Its inside a hotel so the bathroom is kind of far - outside the actual restaurant. One star off because the dessert wasn't stellar - it was some kind of mango tart situation. Other than that had a lovely time and would certainly return for a special occasion.

Never a let down, a solid brunch option with great food and great people. Dinner is a home run too.

All around I had a really good lunch. Try the chicken liver mouse. The salads are also pristine. And the service was great.

Very good food. Nice outdoor seating area with lots of shade. Delicious drinks!

Nice courtyard seating under veranda, good service, fresh bread and creamy butter, local tea selection and dozen options for a light lunch. Great choice if you are close by and want to have a relaxing time.
