Argonne Supper Club

This restaurant has been open for years, my wife used to come here with her family since she was a baby so as I had never tried it before we deduced to visit it for dinner. It was a little emotional for her as her dad passed away last year and this was a place they used to visit together. We were not expecting what was going to happen that night. As soon as we got in I felt everyone was staring at us (we were very casual looking, but not bad looking), we wait for a few minutes until they got us a table and we started to read the menu. There’s not that many options however we knew this as the restaurant is famous for it “All you can eat shrimp” so my wife decided to have an order of 6 fried shrimps, I wanted the all you can eat shrimp and our friend wanted another all you can eat shrimp. The waitress came to take the order so I let my wife go first “I want a 6 fried shrimp basket please” then my turn “I want an all you can eat fried shrimp” and at that moment the waitress with a rude tone answer “you can’t order 6 shrimp and the other person an all you can eat shrimp”, my wife is very little she would only eat 3/4 shrimps tops, so we asked why we couldn’t order an she explained us that it is a rule that they have (again with an attitude and not very friendly customer service) so we say let’s just order two all you can eat shrimp and one stake and at this point the waitress said that she knows that my wife would eat some of the shrimp and that’s not possible and it would be better if we leave and she started to raise her voice, it was so ridiculously rude, I never seen anything like that (at least in Michigan) and more knowing that the owners know my wife and her family since she is a baby. We tarted to get up and leave and the waitress follow us to the exit insulting us (yes, that happened) until the owner asked her to stop and leave us alone, then she apologized for the way the the waitress treated us, however she didn’t offer us to stay or find a solution so from there we went to another restaurant where they treated us excellent and I left the waitress a really good tip for her help and understanding. Very disappointed of the way that Argonne treated us and it makes me feel that they just didn’t one to serve us since the moment we entered the establishment. Maybe it isn’t for us.

Just a classic! It's a bit old but sure is rich in history! The homemade bread comes from the owners grandmothers recipe! The all you can eat shrimp just fills you right up on Friday's! Steamed or fried they have it! The menu is quite extensive from the shrimp to steaks! The blue berry cheese cake we had was to die for! Still warm and gooey! Over all I've always been satisfied with this supper clubs food and prices! Will definitely be coming back around again for a bite to eat!

My family has enjoyed The Argonne Supper Club for generations. I have wonderful memories of my grandparents treating us, and am pleased to treat my own child to dine here, today. I am sure my son will feel proud to take his children, as well. I almost forgot...the service and food is top notch.

We eat all over the country and the Argonne is our favorite. The best shrimp you'll find. Their batter for deep fried shrimp is like no other. Nice friendly atmosphere. Family owned for generations.
