Archambault - Berri

Tons of stuff...good place for browsing...prices are full price+. I found a lunch bag here for 17.99 that I had bought at Jean Coutu for 9.99. Seen to be less into music than they were in the past and more into...everything else. I will go back to look at stuff! Employees? None were around that I saw anyhow. I was there at 6 pm Saturday. $8 for a roll of scotch tape that costs $1 at Dollarama.

I phoned to see if they had an item in stock before driving an hour to the store. The item wasn't in stock. I was also returning a gift and recieved a gift certificate which I was told I could use online. The website is very slow. It took me 4 attempts to buy the item I wanted online and tried using the gift certificate but order confirmation says nothing about the gift certificate. so I had to email them to ask someone to check into it. So far, shopping at Archambault has been a hassle!

Employees and Manager have very limited knowledge on products. Paid $360 for a guitar tune up and for new pickups to be installed. It took them 4 months, when the guitar was received it was in worse condition than when it was brought in. They have a good CD / LP section however it is quite overpriced if you compare prices to the stores on St. Denis and Mont Royal like Beatnick, Aux 33 Tours. For guitar repairs there are much more skilled luthiers in Rosemont area and Frotnenac Hochelaga area.

Awful service. Manager was very rude and racist, if you do not speak in their language, despite being a customer !!! Employees seem like they do not earn enough so they make up for it by being extremely rude and acting like they know nothing of what products are being sold at the store.

Me: do you have fingerpicks? Employee: no.. M: you have no demand? E: yes we do. M: ... E: we haven't ordered any in a while. M: thank you I go in search of a book. M: may i order a book by Lonnie Johnson? E2: ... but you have to pay for it first. M: but i would like to see it, and it would be cheaper for me to buy on amazon in that case. E2: yes. M: ok thank you. Nice blasé employee's, but what is the use of this store? To buy a stratocastor? Go online, it's much cheaper. Strings are 2-5$ more than anywhere else. And the corporation has a very negative influence on our soceity, in my opinion.
