Appetite For Books

Just had dinner last night with an eclectic group of 9. Have been here many times since the opening about 10 years ago, although not in a while. Jonathan still maintains the same level of energy and engagement as he had on day 1. A great menu with unique combinations (beet humus, who would have thought?) and varied flavors was delivered with the usual deep knowledge, sharp wit and great stories. Always a pleasure to watch Jonathan cook and then enjoy the fruits of his labor. Oh, he had in stock two copies of a cookbook (Bird in the Hand) that was back order on Amazon and I needed them for the holidays.

Cookbook bookstore, with very knowledgeable staff. The owners are accomplished cooks who give classes and host writers talks and myriad special events. I came in looking for something on chinese home cooking and the guy was able to pull out about five books and give me a quick review of each of them. I came away with a gem. This is the kind of place that make you regret that you ever bought a book from Amazon.

Appetite For Books is such a charming cookbook shop with a kitchen in the back for workshops and classes. I got a chance to meet and chat with Tays when I visited and you can tell what a gem she and Jonathan have created. You'll find a rich assortment of curated cookbooks for whatever cuisine you're looking to explore.
