We loved this place- it is so close to Bayfield (about 5 min!) and very well kept. It was in good repair- nice walkways, grass was trimmed, etc. Not too private in the tent area but that wasn't a problem. It was nice to have the pit toilet in the tent area so you didn't have to walk all the way to the bathroom (bathroom isn't far but farther than you'd want to walk in the middle of the night). Coin showers- $1.50 for 5 min and the water is nice and hot (it'll be cold at first though, just wait a minute). Everything was clean and nice. You can drive up to each tent site and park your car there. There's a nice little playground too. Great spot!

Went there with a friend to see a concert nearby. Reserved a cabin for one night many months in advance, but then got a letter a few weeks before our arrival that we had to "camp on the campground (with tents) IN ADDITION to our cabin since they had a (labor day) holiday minimum reservation policy of 2 days. Ok, we complied and sent him more money. When we got there....He had no reservations for any night both a site or cabin. The office is chalk full of signs that say "I don't take complaints well". Well, if you need that sign in your business you can bet he's gotten a lot of complaints and maybe should organize a little better. He told us the mix up was our fault because we didn't read the policies on the website. However when we opened up the website for him we all realized his policies that he had printed near his desk were not on his website. He also said that he did not receive any check (which has already been cashed) when we got there. So we cut our trip short and luckily were able to get the last campsite available for one night. Lots of ticks and coyotes kept us up all night. Oh well, live and learn...and stay in another campsite next time.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Don't go there with a group of friends, because you will be treated poorly and be talked down to like you are children. We ended up leaving before we even set up our site because the owner was INCREDIBLY rude the second we arrived. It is a very open campground with not privacy what so ever. Nothing scenic about it. Right off the bat, the owner told us that if he heard our voices above a whisper past 10pm that he would personally escort us out. We had a pretty respectable group with us and just the fact that he didn't even give us the benefit of the doubt was not okay. If he was so concerned about us staying there with a big group, he should have just denied our reservation so we wouldn't have had to waste our time. Also if he was THAT concerned with how loud we would be, he should have given us different site numbers that were maybe a little more private, but instead put us smack dab in the middle of multiple families. From the beginning it was in his full intention to kick us out. This site is also CRAZY overpriced, and we didn't even get half of our money back. Total disappointment, don't recommend it to ANYONE, don't waste your time or money.

Nice place reasonably priced. Friendly and a bit gruff owner. About 2 easy mile walk to town. Highly recommend this place

I was skeptical when I reserved 2 nights at this campground based on the past reviews. I can honestly say it was a great experience. The owner was very pleasant, the cabin very quaint and bathrooms/showers were very clean and well kept. The only thing I would say that I didn't like is that the campsites are very close to each other. Other than that though, my husband and I definitely enjoyed it here. And almost walking distance to downtown Bayfield :) I would definitely recommend this campground.
