Love love loved this place. My husband and I got drinks in the star wars tiki glasses for sale and they were fantastic. Both drinks tasted amazing and were pretty strong. The waitress even washed out the cups when we were finished so they could be stored for the journey home. We ordered the spam musubi and the pork pelly tacos, which each had their own phenomenal flavors. The spam musubi was well cooked, allowing the sauce to coat the meat well and the rice was seasoned just right. The pork belly tacos were just the right mix of spicy and sweet and had all kinds of flavor! The app and entree were both a good portion for the price and just enough for my husband and I. The only change I would make would be to change the pork belly from big slabs to smaller pieces in order to make the tacos easier to eat they were veeery messy as is. All in all, 9.8/10, would definitely recommend.
I was blown away by AO Hawaiian Hideout. Let me start with the service: the waiters were so friendly and quick. Our server apologized for the wait time for the food, but the food came out pretty quickly! They made us feel welcome and gave great service with a smile. The food was great! The loco moco was so hearty and delicious. I’m usually pretty skeptical of sushi outside of a Japanese restaurant, but the sushi did not disappoint. While I was not a fan of the choice of noodle for the pad Thai, the flavor more than made up for it. The Penang poutine was my favorite dish as the curry had such a rich flavor while the basil and red onion perfectly complemented the sweet potato fries. And the mango colada was refreshing and came in a fun coconut cup. Lastly, the decorations and ambiance helped us to feel and home. Seeing the fun Star Wars tiki cups added a bit of fun to such a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was perfect and it has already become a favorite spot in the city.
This place was so good, we came here twice during our trip for dinner. Their menu has a large variety, from sushi to ramen to fried rice. Their drink menu is also very wide and they sell the cups the drinks are brought in! The service was also very attentive, though it states it can be a little slow since they’re short on staff. The experience was great and the food delicious!
Nothing was fresh, lava shrimp broke apart, and the drinks were too sweet. We order the pork belly tacos and beef short ribs and they came suspiciously fast and almost taste like reheated food. They run out of the mac and cheese, we can't substitute the mac and cheese for anything and they still charged us full price. I would not recommend this place
Very unexpected "hidden in plain sight" gem ! "Girls Night" with my best friend and our adult Daughters. It was so fun. The staff is absolutely phenomenal, the decor is great, the food is off the chart delicious, and the drinks are fun and well poured ! -- I actually had to ask for the "extra shot" that comes with my drink to be withheld ! I'm not a big drinker, but the menu was so fun, I had to get a "coconut" bevvy! I had the pangang coconut curry chicken with noodles. So good ! My Friend had the Mongolian beef, and my Daughter had a Ramen bowl and Friends' Daughter had the Sesame chicken. We all loved our meals. The pineapple fried rice is so yummy !!! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered ! We'll DEFINITELY be back !
Really fun place for dinner. Unique experience with some awesome food and cocktails. Service was quick and polite. Floor could probably do with a mop in the sushi area, as it was a little sticky. They have loads of fun tiki glasses for sale.
The food, atmosphere, location, and service are all great. I had the mie goreng spicy! and it was delicious. Their coffee is also very good. The only tiny down side in that the portions are huge! I've never been unable to finish a dish I enjoyed and I feel bad wasting food. But of course this isn't a real issue for most people. 10/10 Features: Servers wear masks
Food was delicious but the service was VERY VERY POOR . I had a server who was a kid . He was non responsive and could halfway articulate a full sentence . I had to ask for a glass of water 3 times then ask for a menu and a straw 4 times . I asked for egg with my meal it’s a menu option and received no egg after an extensive conversation about it . He finally brought the egg to me while chewing his own food lol The food was top notch . I ordered the zombie which wasn’t very good though . Yes , it’s labeled “ VS “ for very strong but it’s tasted of alcohol ONLY ; no other flavor . I couldn’t event drink it . I may or may not return . Maybe I’ll go mid day while the kid is in school or something lol
Just came here with my boyfriend. It was our last meal in Chicago. Ambiance was fine; a bit cheesy but I can appreciate it. The food was not good. Not THAT bad, but also not good. I’d give the food a 4/10. We ordered beef and chicken “poke” bowls and crab rangoons. Came out very quickly and tasted artificial and low quality. Overpriced. The digital menu is also not the easiest to navigate and not user-friendly. They could improve that aspect. I expect to receive a passive aggressive reply to my review. Seems the owner reads every review and responds hastily to the negative reviews. Red flag. Maybe focus your efforts on improving your offerings rather than trying to justify the low quality of your food to each unhappy patron. I would not recommend this place.
New favorite restaurant! Affordable, beautiful, tasty, i could go on & on & on. My boyfriend got the loco moco plate & I got the pad Thai, which were A+. I also got the Grogu mug, filled with their island punch. Their cocktails are great, decor is fab, service is stellar, & live music is always a treat. Plus, their prices are great! I will be back. :
