When I moved to Shakopee Cody was the GM and he was so sweet and welcoming. During the transition period to find a new GM the place had its ups and downs. When Ryan started it was quite the turn around. The place is always well kept and Ryan is super friendly. I usually go in during the morning or afternoon hours and Ryan is either chatting up a member, in his office or working out before his shift. He gives the place a good vibe. Overall, I love this gym. Plenty of space, lots of exercise choices, and friendly people. Good music too!

UPDATE 6/20/17: A new General Manager, Ryan, started about 6 months ago. Since he took over, many of the maintenance and cleanliness issues have been resolved. Ryan has also created a much more open and welcoming atmosphere, and new memberships have increased as a result. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This has been my gym for the past 7 years, and I used to have it listed as 5 stars. During my time as a member, there have been numerous General Managers that have come and gone. Their biggest frustrations have been with the owner's lack of support and concern for the maintenance of the facility. As a result of the high turnover, this place has been significantly neglected. It's very dirty, especially the floors and bathrooms. Many pieces of equipment are in need of repair. Many of the members have poor etiquette, and do not pick up after themselves or stand in front of the mirror which blocks off access to weights.

Went to check it out last week. Had a coupon for a 2 week trial.... Was told I couldn't use it during a promotional period... Ryan told me he could only do a 7 day trial.. I say okay ill do it... Then he tells me I cannot do it during the promotional period... Lol... And then he tells me I cannot use the coupon I have because the owner didnt know about them being issued.... Place was a dump and I laughed my way out of there

It's just like every other Anytime Fitness (they're redoing the mall that is in, if I were a business I would get in there b4 ppl get the knowledge of this Shakopee is starting to boom!!)

Nice staff, but small facility - only one squat rack - "no dropping weight" policy is hard to do when doing heavy dead lifts and makes doing power cleans obsolete. Make sure they notify you about the $50 early termination fee as the location I signed up at (La Crosse) did not do this. In my opinion Anytime is a typical corporate gym. Take my advice and choose a local owned gym that doesn't have connections to a corporation.
