We were greeted & seated immediately as we entered for a late lunch on Saturday by Aman. She helped us pick some dishes from the menu. The food is very appetizing & are served in good portions. The service is very prompt. Overall great experience. Although my disappointment was only for not able to get bottle water... For sure a must try & I'll sure visit again...
It is Little overrated and very overpriced authentic Indian restaurant. Ambience is amazingly wonderful. Quantity was decent and quality is really nice.. appetisers are the must. Cocktails were below standards and overpriced. Naans were pathetic. Customer service was average. One time visit is worthwhile.
This place has amazing interior and nice sitting arrangements, Main food like currys and Naans were good and had good size portions but appetizers were so bad; I couldn't take a 2nd bite of it; it was expensive and very low in quantity. For customer service; I would say it was average; she was speaking so low; I can't even hear her. Too loud music in the background, Unique live performance but was too loud and noisy. Not many options for vegetarians and it was expensive.
Definitely worth another visit. The food tasted great and the dine-in area has a nice welcoming ambiance. Clean facility and the staff is courteous if not the most efficient. We did enjoy their food presentation and unique fusion taste on some items.
Dined in. Food was mostly pretty good, and service was decent but they’re a bit forgetful if it gets busy, which I don’t blame them for. Now for the food we ordered: - tiranga paneer tikka $19 5/5, delicious marinated soft paneer cubed with 3 types of sauce. the pink sauce was my fav but they were all delicious. highlight of the dinner! - mango lassi $7.49 3/5, not sweet enough for me but still pretty decent - shahi paneer $20 3/5, they wouldn’t make it spicy which is weird because every other place I’ve been to does. it was okay, nothing special and I wouldn’t get it again - garlic naan $3.50 5/5 delicious, buttery, and soft with lots of garlic but the flavour is muted - soya chaap biryani $17 4/5 pretty good and the soya was nice and soft, but it lacked flavour just a bit. but still good! - rasmalai $6 3/5 pretty mediocre rasmalai, milk sauce wasn’t as sweet as usual and you can’t really taste saffron or rose. - masala tea $5 4/5 got because they were out of their heavenly cream tea. pretty good! very spicy and flavourful and creamy. SERVICE: 4/5, pretty attentive but we had to ask for a takeout box 4 times to get one. no one seemed to care how we found the food. but food came out quickly and we got water immediately so no other issues. I’d recommend this place to others for sure. It’s a nice place with decent/good food that is presented nicely, at somewhat expensive for indian food prices - the average dish is around $20.
Drove down from the East end specifically to dine in here since we were craving Indian food. I decided we give Anokhi a try for 2 reasons: 1 Open late till 11 P'M, 2 HIGHLY recommended by a friend. Called in to confirm when the kitchen closes: 10:20PM and went in at 9PM. Server was super friendly, we were seated almost immediately. The ambiance and aesthetics were nice. We got Bhatti Ka Murgh as the appetizer, and Dhaba Murgh and Subz Biryani as the main. The appetizer was comparably better and more appealing than our mains. We were very disappointed with the mains and ate no more than a few spoons of them. Additionally disappointing is that we were recommended the most popular dishes on the menu YET, they were very disappointing, being nothing special, in fact, less than average. However, besides the bar and the party area which seemed neat, there's nothing special here, overpriced for less than average quality food, and unreasonable wait times. Overall, very disappointing due to the large expectations of this place. Its possible we may like something else on the menu, however given the wait time, we WILL NOT be returning or recommending it.
How did I miss going to this restaurant when I was living in Mississauga? Anokhi is one of the best Indian food restaurants that I have tried so far. When I called them for booking a reservation, a lady answered the call and talked with me very sweetly. I have never experienced such sweet response in any of the Indian restaurants in Canada. Upon arrival, the same lady welcomed us and escorted to our table. We were then greeted by Digvijay at our table and he asked us to let him know if we wanted their recommendations for dishes. The staff is very courteous. We ordered Tiranga Paneer for appetizers and it was accompanied with 3 dips. The red one is Anokhi special paneer, the green one is Pudina paneer, and the white one is Malai paneer. All the 3 dips were surprisingly way too tasty. Digvijay explained about all the 3 dips. For the main course, we took recommendations from Digvijay and he suggested Mausam ki Sabziya chef's special and Punjabi Baigan Bharta in veg. For non-veg, he suggested Masala Mugh. Being a vegetarian myself, I ordered Mausam ki Sabziya and my husband ordered Masala Mugh picture not attached. We also ordered butter naan. The taste of Mausam ki Sabziya was different in a good way. My husband said that he has never had such a delicious chicken main course ever before. It had different flavours than other restaurants. Butter naan was extremely soft. The staff and service gain full marks as well.
It’s a lovely family restaurant!Awesome food, wonderful environment. Quality of service is excellent. DigVijay’s customer service made us stay longer and try us new items in the menu. 5 starts
Ambience is very nice. For the starters we had bhutte ki seekh and Bhatti ka Murph. Both the appetizers are 5 out of 5. I am little disappointed with the main dish, the dhaba murgh, personally I did not like the dish. The lacha paratha was very nicely prepared. Overall we love our appetizers more. The server Nandini was very nice and polite.
This place deserves a 5 for everything - food quality, ambience, service and presentation. Dal Anokhi is indeed anokhi! What made my experience great was Manpreet’s service, kudos to her for being honest in recommending dishes and portions!
