Story

An Affair to Remember Catering was started in 1994 by Marlon & Elizabeth Olsen. In 2000 Stephen Gillette joined our management team, bringing sales and service experience. We have steadily grown to become one of the largest independent caterers in the City of Calgary.

Our ability to change keeps us competitive. We have the capability to create and customize any menu for all clients and always stay on top of the current menu and design trends. We also feel we have the absolute best service staff in the city. They always go above and beyond for every client, realizing that what they do is very important no matter what the event!

An Affair to Remember has a 6500 square foot kitchen facility located minutes from downtown in N.E. Calgary. All event preparations are made from this location and transferred to the event location in one of our twelve company vehicles.

We have also been fortunate to have been the caterer of 2002 G8 Summit for the Calgary Police Service which consisted of 6000 meals per day for four days straight. In addition we are the official caterer of Calgary famous GlobalFest International Festival VIP area.

We had our wedding catered by An Affair to Remember in July & they did a great job! Our initial meeting with Matt was great! He is very nice and made the process really easy! He even came out for a site visit before our wedding & was able to answer all our questions. The food we ordered was great and the staff were all very kind! I would recommend hiring them for your event!

An Affair to Remember catered my wedding and they were wonderful to work with from the beginning. The food was delicious and they showed up early, had great communication throughout the planning process, and the catering staff were very attentive. I appreciated how careful they were with all the guests allergies/dietary restrictions lots of options, as well. I highly recommend this caterer, particularly for weddings!

We had An Affair to Remember cater a thanksgiving dinner for our wedding on thanksgiving weekend and everyone raved about the food. It was so delicious, hot, and fresh. The staff were really great to work with both before and on the day. Highly recommend!

You can pick and choose a custom menu and it is VERY DIFFICULT because all the items sound so good. My wife and I chose a menu for my mother in law’s celebration of life and WOW! The food all came on time. What was supposed to be cold WAS COLD and what was supposed to be hot WAS HOT. The taste and texture of the food was top notch and seemed a little classier than your average catered food. The staff were very attentive, personable, and respectful. This whole business reeks of professionalism!!

Affair to remember catered our wedding at the Cochrane ranchehouse and they were outstanding! The food was the best food we ever had at a wedding from our point of view and many guests agreed with us. They were also very accommodating to our requests and worked with us to create a tater tot poutine bar for our midnight snack. They were very helpful, responsive, and I would use them again in a heart beat. Thank you so much for making our wedding amazing!

As a former employee all I can say is this is the best place to work. World class team work, and the staff, especially the kitchen, are so friendly and unlike most kitchens, you know, miserable, gossipy, and lazy. The general manager is a hard working guy who doesn't get the love he deserves, but he should, cuz he is great, as is his assistant. Best 80's, maybe late 90's quality food I ever had. My daughter's wedding was catered by An Affair To Remember.  Matt and his staff were efficient, friendly and very professional.  I cannot praise them enough as the food was exceptional. I have used many caterers in my life, and I'd rank this one of the best Thank you for making it an affair to remember

They called before they arrived and said that they had dropped the vegetables in the kitchen so they were going to be 20 mins late. Then after waiting longer, they finally arrived and forgot the plates, so we had to wait another 20 mins for them to leave and come back with plates. By the time they had arrived for the second time, the turkey was quite dry, and the vegetables were raw and awfully chopped. The tomatoes were practically halved as were the rest of the vegetables. Still had a great time but the food wasn’t.

An affair to remember recently catered our wedding and they were incredible. The coordinator Matt was wonderful to work with, he was so helpful and worked through everything with us even throughout covid.  The food was amazing and they accommodated all of our requests. We would highly recommend them for any occasion.
