A very nice theater with a classic feel, fair prices, and a friendly staff. The only thing that would make this theater better is if they were to show more movies in their second run. It was nice to see Get Out over a year after its release but that unfortunately doesn't seem to be the norm for these theaters. Lean into your "classic" name, AMC! Don't just relabel the theaters you don't want to renovate as "classic." Either which way, that isn't a complaint against the theater itself and I quite enjoyed it.
Great if you are looking for low traffic and some slightly older movies. Clean location but seating is still original, 1 level, slightly sloped seating. Little cheaper than the other new refined AMC. my kids don't care but definitely prefer the reclining seats.. lol
The Vernon Hills 8 theater is kind of old school, and hasn't been updated in what looks like a little while to be fair it's not that bad. I'm very used to stadium seating, and the works that's available at the AMC South Barrington 30 location. With that in mind, slightly outdated theater, the picture quality wasn't good. I told a crew member that the picture was a little blurry. He was apologetic and followed me back to the theater to check on the picture. I went back to my seat assuming he'd figure it out, but nothing changed. To be clear that picture wasn't terrible. Some shots, face close-ups, looked fine while others, panoramic views of the city, looked quite blurry we were watching Spider-Man Homecoming. It wasn't so bad that we left wanting a refund, but it definitely didn't leave us with a great experience and we're certainly not likely to return to that location anytime soon. Also, the audio quality wasn't really up to par either for most theaters these days. I have a sound bar surround sound system at home, and I think that would have been slightly better quality. I wouldn't really recommend this theater, especially considering proximity and how much better the Hawthorn 12 AMC is compared to this one.
Pretty nice theater, usually not too crowded, as there is a super-fancy new theater at the mall pretty much across the street. It is reasonably clean and well run. Smaller screens, but for those who don't care like me good value.
It's a fairly small theater kind of off the beaten path so it's never too crowded. The seats are comfortable and the food is good. I've been to first showings on a weekend afternoon and always, found a good seat.
This theater is worn down and very outdated. But yet they charge the same prices for concessions if not more than the newer theaters. Theaters are small and sound is bad. The light from the projection room makes the theater look like it is lit up by moonlight. Just a kinda sad place all around. I will not go back.
Snacks are VERY expensive in relation to other theaters. Seats are uncomfortable compared to the recliners in most places now. Sneak in your own snacks and you'll be ok. Ticket prices are reasonable. Not my first choice of venue.
I love going to AMC Showplace Vernon Hills 8. They have provided excellent service with a great cost for a movie. On an average day one can watch a movie for half the price of the the bigger theaters and in all spend less than $12.00 for a wonderful time watching your favorite movies.
Nice little movie theater. I watched few movies with my son. Less expensive and much better than Buffalo Grove theater. Do not expect the quality of projection and sound as the other AMCs and regal.
I rate it 4.5. I really like this theater. Sure it's not the nicest. No there is no reclining seats. But, it's clean and it has great prices.
