Amber Hotel

I visited grand bend with my family and decided to stay at Amber hotel and the place is really great, cozy rooms and quiet place. Had a really good experience with the staff as well since they were very attentive if you have any questions or any query AND i had one regarding the exhaust fan in Washroom and the front desk responded immediately and explained very nicely that it was automatic and the fan is in there but as usual I didn’t bother looking as we all are used to the loud noise of the fan. Overall experience was really great and with the beach only 5 minutes from the hotel is the bonus point.

I recently stayed at Amber Hotel and while the accommodations and amenities were nice, it was the incredible service from the front desk team that truly stood out. I had accidentally left my headphones behind after checking out—a small item, but one I use every day and really needed for my travels.nnWhen I called the hotel, the receptionist went above and beyond to locate the headphones, confirm they were mine, and arrange for a prompt return. They kept me updated throughout the process with clear communication and genuine care. I felt like a valued guest even after I had left the premises.nnThis kind of service is rare and speaks volumes about the professionalism and attention to detail at this hotel. A beautiful property is one thing, but staff who genuinely care about their guests make all the difference.nnHighly recommend Amber Hotel not just for the comfort and location, but for a team that truly looks after its guests. I’ll absolutely be returning

The rooms are incredibly small. There is no fan in the bathroom. The shower stall is disgusting and moldy. Have to wear sandals in the shower. The bedding was not the cleanest either, we had to deeply inspect before resting our heads. If you need a place to rest your head on a budget, Amber Hotel will do, but I would personally would rather spend more money for comfort and cleanliness.

I have been to this hotel once before and didn’t have a great experience, but it also wasn’t bad — which led me to come back again, only to have a terrible visit. On my first stay, housekeeping knocked on my door at 10 a.m. for room service. I replied, “No thank you,” through the door, but they entered anyway since the door had no deadbolt lock. I was still in bed and completely mortified when they came in. They left apologizing.nnDespite that, I decided to visit Grand Bend again and wanted to give this place another chance — since my first visit wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible either, and the price was fairly decent. I entered a seemingly clean room, but when I looked in the bathroom, the shower was covered in black mold and had a very musty stench. I immediately took pictures and went down to speak with the staff. They explained that the best they could do for me was offer a refund. They didn’t acknowledge how dirty the room was, how serious black mold can be, or even apologize — they simply said, “It is what it is.” They didn’t seem shocked at all.nnWith nowhere else to go on such short notice, I decided to stay and tried to avoid using the bathroom or shower. Before going to bed, I turned on the air conditioning and was woken up by the sound of dripping. I discovered a huge puddle of water forming from a leak in the air conditioner above the door. I had to place towels underneath, as sleeping without AC wasn’t an option — it was 34 degrees Celsius outside. Overall, I was just extremely disappointed with my experience there.nnDo not visit!

If there was an option for no stars I’d pick that option unfortunately I have to give them something. Came here to check in just past 11 o clock and they took my money told me I wasn’t able to check in. This completely screwed my whole trip as I was down here for work with my three month old daughter. I had just driven over 5 hours to get there and these people wouldn’t let me check in even though I had paid on booking.com. Said they would give a refund the next day I’m still waiting on my refund as of today. This place is a joke spend the extra money and stay at the colonial hotel where they actually treat people like people. And have some kind of consideration for their guest.
