Amaya Express Burlington

I have loved the food here for a long time. Recently it seems a few of the curries have been given a strange sweet element that I don't really care for. Delicious fish and the chickpeas are my favourite. Always they provide attentive and kind service. They even prepared me takeout that I unknowingly ordered (online) right before the store was due to close! I didn't realize until I got there and the doors were locked but they were just as friendly as always. Great people and food.

While the food is undeniably amazing and delicious, the dining room is beautiful and the staff is quite friendly, the service is quite poor. It took almost an hour to get the appetizers on the table and an hour to get the entrées. The waiters are working hard, however, the restaurant may be under staffed. If you are willing to spend almost three hours to experience delicious Indian cuisine, I would certainly recommend, otherwise you can choose one of their food court options in Toronto for an equally tasty dining experience.

So, with a deep understanding of Indian food, my visit to Amaya was 2ith great expectations as it is quite known for good food. And yes it is as expected. With an Indian perspective the food is almost Indian, one of my favorite dishes in Indian cuisine is tandoori chicken and Butter chicken, an appetizer and a curry. The former which was awesome but the latter was more of a sweet curry not the authentic butter chicken, too sweet for my taste. Awesome samosas. So enjoy very Indian, mild not too hot food. A d not too spicy as well.

The naan is delicious as is the case with most places that make their own. I also enjoyed their butter chicken. Like another reviewer on here I found the sauce to be more sweet than spicy. While I personally would prefer the inverse it still works. The setting is open and feels modern sometimes I feel like Indian restaurant feel a little old fashioned but not here.

Delightfully warm atmosphere, delicious fragrant and flavorful dishes. The staff was very accommodating and courteous. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
