Had my snowboard boots repaired here. They did an excellent job for a fair price. I will be back for sure.
Two of the nicest people in the city run the shop, and some of the best craftsmanship I’ve seen!
I've used this shop's services about three times over 20 years. These days I'm wearing leather boots daily. The boots are expensive and once I break them in they fit like a glove, so keeping them in good repair is important! The two people who own and run this shop are amazing! I come in with a lot of questions and they give me a lot of good information, recommendations and tell it to me straight. They are really personable people in a genuine way. The turn around time is great. The quality of the work is never in question and I think the price is fair. 20 years ago I was told they are the best hiking boot shop and more recently I was told they are the top fashion shoe repair shop. I agree with all of the recommendations and I am so grateful they are in business.
Unfortunately they no longer repair Hiking Boots here, but the super nice guy who was working was a wealth of information and helped me to find a place that would help me. I wish I could have given him some business today, but I'll be back when I have shoe repairs.
Best place in town to get your shoes repaired and such lovely people. FYI they are off in the month of August always so make sure you get your shoes done before then!
I like to try and support local businesses, so I was happy to find this shoe repair shop in my neighbourhood. However, I found them to be very unwelcoming and unhelpful. I brought in two pairs of boots with broken zippers, and the woman at the counter told me they were unfixable. She said she'd have to replace both zippers, it would cost $90 for each pair, and that they weren't worth fixing even though the zipper was the only damage and both pairs were in great shape. I tried my luck at another shoe repair place, and the cobbler fixed both pairs easily for $30 total, and barely any trace that they've been worked on. I'm not sure if the folks at alpine were inexperienced, or just too busy to bother fixing my boots, but I certainly didn't feel like they wanted to help me out.
Great service and high quality repairs. I have had 3 pairs resoled here, and this extends the life of shoes significantly. I also really appreciated the honest advice I received. When I asked about how to clean salt stains off of my waterproof suede boots, rather than selling me an expensive cleaning product, the owner suggested spraying on a solution of watered down white vinegar weekly,a nd this was the perfect, cheap solution!
I was really impressed with the quality of customer service here. I was recommended this cobbler by Gravity Pope but after reading some negative reviews I was unsure. I'm glad I took the plunge and I will definitely be back. You can come here expecting experienced professionals that won't try to up sell just for the sake of making a buck. It's clear their objective is to develop a strong base of returning clientele and they achieve this with honest, low pressure service.
I’ve been going to Alpine Shoe Service for almost 20 years, mostly to have my Birkenstock sandals and dress shoes resoled. They have always been very nice and helpful and I will continue to go there. Workmanship has been great and have never had any issues with a repair.
