Super unique spot with traditional big island cuisine. The food felt fresh and the atmosphere gave off some great tropical vibes. We ordered a decent selection from the menu to get a good feel for different things and didn’t regret anything! They have very reasonable prices
Amazing experience!! All the way down to the staff, we found excellence. We will for sure be back!! We started with the fried spam musubi and steamed manapua pork buns. They were both super delish! The Musubi was like a deep fried sushi with spam. My husband had the loco moco with miso soup and the best kimchi I’ve ever had. I had the Kalua pig with Portuguese bean soup and lemon ginger salad. We finished with the mini malasadas coconut doughnuts. Incredible!! We can’t wait to come back and try more off their menu!!
SO good! I can't wait to be back. I don't know how authentic it is but it was delicious. For fellow vegetarians-- the tofu/eggplant entree was delicious! Pros: - friendly employees - fast service - huge portions! a really great deal for the price Cons: - large menus sometime unsettle me because it makes me question the quality and freshness of food but nonetheless, the food we got was great. - the japchae didn't taste like it was the freshest but it was still good
Aloha Cooking primarily serves Hawaiian cuisine and is located in downtown East Lansing, beside BAPS. I went in for a poke bowl and they offered tuna, tuna and salmon, or veggie poke bowl, which came with a miso soup and a choice of sauce. Atmosphere and Decor: The restaurant looks neat and clean, with a warm and quiet atmosphere. The seating is the classic booth, which seats four. The restroom is relatively clean and spacious. Service: The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food came out quite quickly, and they were able to leave out certain items from a particular dish if you have any allergies. Food and Flavors: The poke tuna bowl was delicious, with very tender tuna and a great mix of flavors with the veggies and rice. The roasted sesame sauce was a great choice for this bowl. The poke bowl with miso soup is a big meal for one. The restaurant does not serve any alcoholic drinks. Price: The price is on the higher side for an entrée, but considering the quality and quantity of food, it was a great experience. Conclusion: The restaurant's location is great, and the staff is friendly. The food was delicious, and we had a great time. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian poke bowl available.
1st visit: Korean Fried Chicken Wings. Spam Musubi. Deluxe Poke Bowl. Not pictured: Loco Moco. 2nd visit: Classic Poke Bowl.
It’s a cute place to eat! Not sure if hawaiian food is my taste, but I enjoyed the salad. Great service as well!
This place was amazing I loved it I highly recommend it the servings were pretty decent for the price and they were amazing quality so much flavor and very fresh also everything arrived really quick and the servers were super nice and checked on us frequently and the whole place was a great vibe and very comfortable I will definitely go back when I’m in town again
Delicious Hawaiian dish, Kailua Pig. A great change of pace. Next time I'll ask for extra sauce! Decent prices and didn't leave hungry.
One of my new local favorites; I stopped in for a random lunch and was honestly blown away. Great food, great service. Hits the sweet spot of tasty, affordable, and has plenty of healthy options available on the menu. Plus, Hawaiian cuisine is a unique addition to the area and a welcome bit of variety.
Great food. Family run business. Half of workers or more are usually from the owner, this is a good sign! My favorite is the Chicken wings, they are sweet and delicious. Also the Bean Soup and Jab Chae are favorites from the appetizer menu.
