Fantastic experience at a unique Middle Eastern restaurant. The freshly made bread in its various forms is the star, but all the food was great. Much more than just your typical shawarma. The location was clean and stylish. Good for families. The service was terrific and the girl assisting us was helpful with suggestions and explanations. Plenty of parking available. We will be back!
As a Turk, it was a flavor that perfectly suited the Turkish taste! The portions are nicely huge, the coffee is more bitter than Turkish coffee, but it has a delicious taste. Baklava is not real baklava, but I liked it very much as Egyptian-style baklava. If you like kebabs and skewers/sish, you should definitely try it. I love the Egyptian cuisine!
I was recommended to try Al Madina woodstone oven and grill and they exceeded my expectations. The restaurant served me and my family, one of the best Middle Eastern meals we’ve ever had.nnThe food tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was very careful, and respectful, and provided excellent service.nnWe ordered the mixed grill platter with rice and chicken manaeesh pizza for the kids, which they loved so much. Before the main course was served, we enjoyed fresh pita bread with delicious hummus and other dips as starters.nnFor drinks, we had classic lemonade and strawberry lemonade.nnI definitely look forward to visit again, I already know what I’ll be ordering next from their menu. Can you guess? Lol
There's something about Middle Eastern cuisine that never fails to comfort me when life is tough. Amidst life's trials, the aromatic spices, hearty stews, and warm hospitality serve as a comforting embrace, soothing both the soul and the senses. Seeking this experience, I went down to the Boardwalk to try out ALMADINA Woodstone Oven & Grill 330 The Boardwalk, Waterloo, ON N2T 0A6. A restaurant located in one of the most happening areas of Waterloo, this eatery served me the best Middle Eastern food I had in a while.nnHoping to start off with a palate cleanser, I ordered the signature AlMadina Salad plate - an appetizer platter fit for a Middle Eastern feast, boasting a vibrant trio of hummus, tabbouleh, and tzatziki, the dish was paired with crisp and golden pita chips, making for the perfect segue into the entree. My main course was a mixed grill plate - the ultimate carnivore's delight showcasing the mastery of charcoal barbecue. First, the succulent shish kabob, boasted tender chunks of marinated beef, charred to smoky perfection. Next, the shish tawook had tender chicken imbued with a melody of spices, offering a burst of flavour with every bite. And then, the kofta: two skewers of seasoned ground meat, grilled over charcoal to achieve a delectable char and caramelization. Could not ask for anything better!nnShould you find yourself in Waterloo craving Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine, I'd be remiss if I didn't direct you to ALMADINA. Whether you're looking for something halal, something vegetarian, or simply something delicious, you are sure to find your pick here. Warmly recommended!nnTo hear more about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, & Facebook.
One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in KW.nWe went late to the place, almost 30mins before the closing time, even then the food was really fresh and tasted amazing!nnOrdered chicken shawarma plate, grilled lamb plate, falafel dish as starter, and Egyptian tea.nWe got fresh pita bread as starters before the main course was served didn't order themnnFirst time trying Egyptian tea comes without sugar, you need to ask for it and it tastes really good. The chicken and lamb were really juicy and tender. The food in general was really fresh, and flavorful. The dips- hummus, garlic and toum were toooo good.nnThey have pita breads and sauces that you can buy from the counter. We are definitely planning to go back another time and try other items on the menu.
