I took my wife here a few weeks ago for her birthday, I loved the entire experience especially when you walk into this place. I won't speak anymore of this and will talk about the ambience, the place oozes of hipster meets Chicago Prohibition. When you walk in you'll notice the main bar to your left and some amazing decor and furniture. I booked a table for 2 and it was so much better than I expected. The table was low lying and had tons of room for shareable items and all your drinks. This is am awesome place to start your night before you head out for the night. The drinks are pricey bit worth the experience, they even have a drink that's worth over $500.00! We ordered the Cashew & Artichoke dip and Beef Carpacio. For our drinks I had an Old Fashion, and a Spice rum and my wife ordered some fruity drink I can't remember but it tasted good. I also noticed that they have a patio that overlooks the mosh-pit in front of Roger's place, this would be an amazing place to hangout in the summer. If you plan to check this place out, make sure you RSVP a table in advance. I highly recommend this place!

Finally made it to Alchemy after work on a Friday and I was not disappointed. Going into it I wasn’t sure based on some poorer reviews but I honestly had a great time. Yes, the cocktails are more than your average bar but you’re at a fancy cocktail bar, so that’s the going rate these days. I had a Lily of The Valley and the Temptress and both were delicious. Our bartender, I forget his name, was awesome and very attentive. I want to go back once the patio is open, as it is massive and will be great on a sunny day.

What a vibe! Love the speakeasy-style bookcase entryway and creative cocktails. We had great service and delicious drinks. The HWY 2 was a fave for us both. The mushroom frites were deadly too. Great atmosphere and a cool place to grab a drink and appie. Just removed one star because of the limited food menu. But overall, thoroughly enjoyed! Worth the nightmare of finding downtown parking ;

been previously pre-COVID & had a different experience this time around it was fairly quite in comparison to last time-but took our server about 10mins to greet us; going forward we had approx. 3 different servers... we tried the $25 alchemist a delicious suprise the no schrubs & old fashioned all were delicious food: dont go hungry...tapa sized food we tried the cashew dip, beef skewers, mussels and oysters...all were delicious once we were done eating our empty dishes sat in front of us for over 30mins despite having severs come by to take drink orders & deliver said drinks...they were only removed since we ordered more food...like I said; it it was busy-would totally get it...but really wasnt would I go back? maybe as a stop for a cocktail or two...because they sure were good!

Definitely worth checking out! I came here on Friday night after work for drinks. The environment is beautiful and inviting. I commented on the wallpaper and was told it's Hermes. Gorgeous! It wasn't very busy but there was a steady flow of people coming in. It was quiet enough to have a good conversation but I didn't hear anyone else around, and we were seated near another trio. The service was excellent and our drink orders were perfect. We didn't order food but I'm curious to try for next time! 4 stars because the prices are on the high end but I think it's worth it as a treat! I'll be back!

Fantastic drinks, trendy atmosphere- but the menu leaves something more to be desired. Stop by on your way for an actual meal.

A secret place located on the 5th floor of the JW Marriott downtown. It's located behind a bookshelf If your looking for a unique experience with great ambiance... Look no further.

The food was good, the drinks were good. Service was great until they told us to leave without mentioning to us when we were seated that there’s a 90 minute sit down time. They were nice and accommodated our group to the back of the bar. Made us carry our own food and drinks to the back and didn’t give us new cutlery or plates to sit down with, we used our hands. When we went to the washroom and came back, The hostess pulled us aside and told us that a bartender accused my friend of swearing at him when he said “bye DUDES” to us and she advised that we were just going to the washroom and we would be right back. A server then mentioned to us after the fact that he was known to be sexist. I am really unimpressed with this service, especially with the prices. We have contacted higher ups of alchemy to inform them of our service. Will not be returning.

Impress your friends by making a reservation here and surprise them with this trendy speakeasy. It's a bit pricy, but you're paying to feel like a fancy little boy. Try the Killer Bee cocktail. The food is mostly small plates.
