Aji Sai

Probably the best sushi restaurant in Barrie, but it does not mean the best sushi restaurant or best sushi. What to expect: times very long waits when restaurant is busy (our record wait was over 1 hour one time); tea cups arrive somewhat sticky almost all the time. State of cleanliness is always a major factor for me (I can be more picky than an average client); in this case, I feel there is a room for improvement. Overall, ok sushi, friendly staff members (manager always greets with a smile), good atmosphere.

Decent menu with an average price for the area. The sushi doesn't come frozen as often as Diamond sushi, that's for sure. Soy sauce is very salty here though, as well as the service can be slower.

Great sushi! Quick takeout and DELICIOUS! Got 3 avocado rolls and some cheese won tons, it came to less than $15, was ready in 10 mins and was very fresh. One of my favourite sushi places for all you can eat, too!! The restaurant itself could be a little cleaner, but other than that, The service and food is consistently good.

Staff was attentively ready to serve us when we walked in. Placing orders was no problem. Selection was above average. Many sashimi and sushi to choose from. Chicken selection was good too. Food was excellent.

The food is fantastic, you can watch the chefs make it over the counter. The service is pretty good. The only bad experience I've had with their service was when I got a free "bath"; the waiter accidentally spilt water all over the table and my shorts. I received an apology but no discount. The worst thing about Aji Sai is the lack of atmosphere. The walls are a solid colour and all the seating is black. The windows are covered with dark blinds that hide Bayfield Street. I understand that Bayfield street isn't exactly luxurious, but the darkness from the blinds makes the restaurant feel cramped. TL;DR: Good food, decent service, "meh"/subpar atmosphere.
