The Anoka County Brotherhood Council, Inc ( ACBC ) is a community food shelf.

Story

The Anoka County Brotherhood Council, Inc ( ACBC ) is a group of concerned citizens working to end hunger locally. The food shelf is staffed by four part-time employees and around 150 volunteers.

Mission

To provide emergency food and clothing to Anoka County residents in need while maintaining the dignity of those we serve.

Thankful for this place growing up as low income American. We got so many diapers for the children. By the grace of God this place allowed that once a month visit for food and other supply to last us until the next month. We loved those little snacks just a special treat for the children even in our teens - very kind people. This place really helped to make my mom’s disability check stretch each month. I am thankful my sister was resourceful to find the place to help alleviate the stress on her taking care of a family on her on income while our mother was dying.
My boyfriend and I came here due to an unexpected lack of funding and the recent loss of a beloved family pet. Due to the circumstances of the past few weeks we haven't be able to get food while handling the bills. We were apprehensive at first and nervous, but today we had our first shop. The staff were extremely friendly, Nick was so helpful with us today. We left and are now hopeful for making it through the next few weeks as we start to get back on track - and we are so so thankful for everyone who helped us today and work with this organization. Thank you <3

Took a friend there. It was good for my friend. He isn’t doing so good and having a place to fall back on for food like this one is a blessing. I’m thankful everyday and places like these saves all kind of lives. Feeling thankful.

Really doesn't get much better that the unconditional respect my family and I got. Best foodbank/shelf I've ever seen.
They allow you to shop for what you need. This is extremely dignifying when you just need something normal in your life.
