My Honeywell central vacuum had a motor fail light on and wasn't starting. Thomas was really helpful from the initial phone call, giving me information on next steps for repair and alternate options to in shop repair and replacement of the motor. He repaired it on the spot quickly and without appointment.
I went into the shop today trying to find a vacuum, and instead witnessed workplace harassment. I was on a video call with my partner, when the owner came out and was upset with the employee because I wanted to check in with my partner before spending $$$. Very rude and unprofessional. All the best to the one employee who provided very good service to me.
I am so delighted with the service I have received from the technician at Vacuum King on Mt. Pleasant. He has spent a great deal of time fixing my old Electrolux vacuums so that now I have two vacuums that will work well for a long time. I will also take my new Miele to him when I need service.
I have done business with Vacuum King for over 10 years, first and still as a service customer and then as a vacuum cleaner purchaser. We have found this company to be super i.e. 5 stars. They will repair things and do a good job at a fair price unusual in this day and age of most everything being disposable. When it came time to buy both a vacuum being given as a gift for a family member's housewarming or one we needed as we were finding what we had too heavy to lug up and down 3 flights of stairs, we were given great advice and directed to machines that were far less costly then we had originally decided on and were, in fact, better choices for our needs. Vacuum King owner and staff are fair and honest and I recommend them without hesitation.
I took in my Panasonic Vacuum for repair, my guess was that the on/off switch was not working. Thomas checked it out and phoned the next day to tell me the engine had failed and it could not be repaired, he offered to dispose of the vacuum for recycling. I decided to collect my vacuum and take it elsewhere, Thomas told me that he was disappointed that I had come to collect it. I took my vacuum to another repair shop, they quickly diagnosed that the on/off switch was not working and had it fixed with two days. I have grave doubts as to the competence/ethics of this shop
My old Samsung vacuum died on me a couple of days ago. From previous experience with electric motors, I was almost certain that it was not the motor but rather the switch, a connector or some of the electronics. Motors, especially brush motors, don't just die. They alert you to problems by screeching and screaming, sometimes accompanied by a terrible smell, well in advance. Anyway, I took the vacuum to these guys to have a look. Very "expertly" they showed me how the switch and cable were fine which sadly meant that it was the motor that was at fault. They told me that they could fix or replace the motor with a refurbished one for about $100. I was suspicious. Instead of leaving my old vacuum cleaner for them to throw away and perhaps buy a new one in the store, I took it back home. I must thank them for removing the plastic switch and cord pedals and leaving them removed. When I got home from the shop, I pulled out my tester and started checking the current at the switch and cable. Those were just fine like they showed me in the store. However, when I cleaned and re-plugged the connectors and reconnected everything else, the vacuum came to life! Shame on them for such unconscionable trickery. Are their dollars worth more than ours?
Moved into a house with central vac and had to call them to get some issues dealt with. First one was dealt with over the phone, she was patient and guided me through everything. Later on in the year we needed it replaced. They came the next day and it was a quick an easy install. Very friendly and will return again when in need.
I was very impressed with their speedy and reasonably priced service! I dropped off my vacuum on Friday afternoon and it was ready by Saturday morning and worked like it was brand new! Very satisfied. Also, the shop dog is very sweet. :
I am beyond thrilled with the service from Thomas and Vacuum King Ltd. Thomas has gone over and above to repair a very treasured Kirby vacuum that my mother owned that I thought was unrepairable. Thank you again Thomas and Vacuum King Ltd.
