I know, I didn’t have to do it, but I did. It’s my one celebration meal per week and I am going in. It’s started with the Nutty Professor. It had those magic words Frangelico, a liquor I discovered on vacation last week. I am a vacation drinker and would be considered a super lightweight so I had to take my time. But it was the perfect drink to compliment the French toast with apples and a maple glass, hash cakes, bacon, and eggs. Yes it was just me and I did my best to eat it all. The atmosphere was a comfortable rustic industrial with friendly and attentive staff.
I have been here a few times and have not left a review, but this is one of my favorite places in Kalamazoo. My husband and I often visit for brunch on Sundays or for date night. The food is always fresh, drinks are good, I especially love the seasonal winter drinks. The staff is always friendly!
Atmosphere & Service were excellent but the food was Extraordinarily Excellent!! We had a group of 5 and every single entre ordered looked amazing and tasted even better. 1 person in our group has traveled the U.S. and said 600 Kitchen and Bar is their top choice in the Kalamazoo area.
The food and drinks are high quality with many varieties to choose from. They offer Vegan and Gluten Free choices. We sat outside to enjoy our meals. Inside and outside is very pleasant and elegant. We had the grilled Salmon and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: They offer tofu options, Vegan Meatloaf, Roman, Vegan Smashed burger and fried chicken sandwich and carrot ginger soup.. Goat cheese moouse Parking: Off to the side and near front of the building. Wheelchair accessibility: Had a ramp off from the street. Dietary restrictions: Offer gluten free and lower sodium options.
Dirty Martini on point and served in a throw back prohibition glass Appetizers; Charcuterie board was enjoyable, first time having pickled apricots Smoked Salmon Dip - DELICIOUS - I asked for some tomatoes with it Vegan corn tamales outstanding Entrees; 1.Black & Blue Salmon salad with blue cheese and blue cheese dressing. I love blue cheese but the combo of the blue cheese crumbles with blue cheese dressing, overpowered the salmon. The blacked salmon was cooked perfectly but I ended up just eating it plan. If you order this, I would ask for a vinegrette instead. 2. Pork Chop with Mushroom Bread Pudding - WON the best dinner that night. Holy smokes was that mushroom bread pudding good. 3. Marinated chicken and veggies, both items cooked just right and tasty 4. Burmese red pork, the flavors dance and are just the right combo of spice/smoke while the pickled radishes enhance the flavors Wine selection could have been much better Service, pretty good did have to remind of a couple things Desserts were all okay. Skip the flan and go for the brownie, which you can get with ice cream All in all - place was great and seems to consistently put out delicious meals.
This place seems to be promising a lot, its nice and neat environment and courteous staff but the menu brunch presented was not palatable. Brunch menu available at 12 noon, tried for the first time the following: Tofu Veggie was too salty Medium-well steak not passing. Try at your own risk, make an order $15 or less if you want get the feel of KZoo class AB crowd
Excellent atmosphere and spacious. Friendly staff and pretty good food. The goat cheese starter was fantastic! We got the catfish and meat cut bone in ribeye entrees. Catfish came almost completely covered in tater sauce was not mentioned on the menu and not asked for. I tried to pick around it but, eventually gave it to another person at our table. Ribeye, I was told, was cooked to medium as asked but was flavorless when the butter ran out. Most of the 54$ ribeye was fat the dogs liked it. The au gratin potatoes served with the steak were partially raw. Overall, not bad just a little unexpected for the cost. Would try again. Drinks were fabulous!
Amazing food, in an amazing space, with amazing service. Honestly, you only find quality spots like this every so often. Put this one on your list. Original, fresh, and great tasting food and drink. I only wish it was closer so I could visit more often. I had the green goddess salad. Only made it through 1/3 if it. So good! Mt cohort had the lobster grilled cheese and Swiss onion soup. He couldn't stop raving. Worth the price for high quality food and service. They've done an amazing job with the space as well. Highly recommended.
Lately I’ve been sensitive to sound, but when this place gets busy, it’s a tolerable chattering buzz. Great servers, good and I must say different style of food. I highly recommend that peanut butter jelly chicken for starters
My partner and I generally love going to 600 kitchen and bar. They are usually very friendly and their dinner is phenomenal, especially their ramen bowl with pork belly. Today, we decided to try their brunch and boy am I glad that we did. I ordered the ‘Sophia’s French toast Stack’ with Rosti Potato and my partner ordered their ‘Monte Cristo’ sandwich with their fries. I LOVED their French Toast with strawberries and cream, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Rosti Potato was very dry and had to eat, would not get again. I also ordered their peach Mimosa. I’m not a huge fan of orange juice so I wanted to try their peach one and I’m very glad that I did since it was the first mimosa that I’ve wanted to finish. I would definitely get it again. My partner thought the sandwich was a little dry. It needed more of a savory note to counter the sweet strawberry jam. The fries were ‘excellent’ and that is a very high praise from her. She’s very particular about her fries. To quote: “the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside”. They, also, had fresh black pepper and salt that was very good with the fries. Hope you enjoyed the view. Thanks, Navi
