1979 Taphouse & Grill

Spend a few night a year in Wainwright for work, always like coming to the Taphouse. Nice servers, good food and a cool atmosphere. The guy that I figure is the owner is always around and helping his team. Few different types of tables for all kinds of customers.

Food was OK, nachos could have been heated a little longer the cheese was not fully melted and they were cold when they arrived at the table. Prime rib was good. Chicken burger was the best item ordered. Lots of flavor and chicken was tender. It was not busy when we were here and there seemed to be lots of staff. But our waitress disappeared through out the meal. Drinks not refilled at all when the entrees arrived. Then when asked for refills it took 10 minutes to get water while the table beside us got water in 1 minute, different waitress. Finished meal and then waited with dirty dishes on the table for 15 minutes with no bill or waitress.

Great food very nice place with friendly service, food prices were very good but the drinks were expensive.

Was in town overnight and decided to try out this place. The patio, dining room, and lounge areas are all very nice and cozy... Very inviting actually.nnHowever, the staff definitely need to improve their customer service.nI was greeted by a gentleman, who I assume was a host. I don't think he meant to come off as brash but he was.nnThen my server seemed annoyed at my presence. She cut me off with abrupt replies twice before I could finish either my sentences.nAll of this really took away from the inviting atmosphere that I previously mentioned.nIt took 10 minutes before my server returned to even ask if I wanted anything to drink. By this point, I had enough time to decide on my entire order.nnI ordered a ribeye steak which was obviously previously frozen and the steak was very chewy and not tender whatsoever. It did taste good and was cooked to the right doneness though.nThe sides were all good and the beer was nice and cold.nOverall, the price I paid for the dinner was not worth it.nnI won't be going back, which is too bad, because it had such potential.

Stopped here on the way home from Edmonton and had great service and a fantastic meal on the patio! Good potion size and quality food. I flew in from 4 days in Chicago and this was the best meal I had all trip. I will be back!
