So happy we were finally able to try this new addition to the N.Van food scene. The space is gorgeous, even has a few tables on the patio beautiful washrooms too!. Nice Happy Hour offerings. More than just wine - they have beer on tap and cocktails as well. The arancini were fantastic, made in-house. And the charcuterie was beautiful - so impressed with the inclusion of warm olives! Staff were all so lovely, super helpful and knowledgeable. Can't wait to return.
Spent a lovely evening with friends at this intimate, New York style wine bar. The space is a real delight: elegant decor and with just the right level of music and buzz that you can still hold a comfortable conversation. Everything we tried was great, especially the pork belly and light, fluffy Arancini. Looking forward to trying their new menu in December and working through the small but carefully curated wine list. Best of all is 16 West’s secret weapon: a charming server named Dale. What a great professional to have at front-of-house. Provides great service and treats patrons like old friends. We look forward to our next visit.
A fantastic addition to the North Vancouver food scene!! Hands down the best service we've had on the North Shore in quite some time. Staff took the time to not only recommend their personal favorites, but find out what we like and make recommendations suited to our tastes. We've been here multiple times now and have yet to find a miss on the wine menu. The food is absolutely delicious, too! Family feeling shines through; we found ourselves wanting to stay for ours just to enjoy the warm and friendly ambiance. Could not recommend this place enough!
Excellent wine bar in N Vancouver. Undiscovered, new spot for great BC wines. Service is impeccable. Definitely a hidden gem.Service: 5/5
Five of us went for dinner the other night. From the moment we walked in it was a great experience. Super friendly server, chef and bartender, who all had a part in making our evening so much fun. Great wines paired with excellent food, and welcome suggestions from staff regarding both. And the bill was reasonable - bonus! We'll be back!
My wife and I had a really fun meal here over the holidays. The owner or manager? was great. He was very attentive, offered really good wine paring advice. We will definitely plan on going back.
My partner and I had the best dining experience here! Brendan was our server and he couldn’t have been more attentive from start to finish. After a very thorough explanation of the entire menu - dine out, à la carte, and the drink menu - we made our selections and they were incredible! The foie gras, scallops, seafood pasta and pork chops were absolutely to die for. We were recommended two cocktails before dinner which we both loved, and a bottle of wine that suited our dishes perfectly. Dessert was amazing. Can’t recommend this spot enough - thank you to Brendan and staff for the best experience!!
My wife and I had a very enjoyable meal last night. Their staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was superb. We had tapas, the burrata, 2 salads as well as the Risotto and Porchetta and the home made cheesecake! Much more than we regularly order but everything was so good we just kept going. Great spot highly recommend.
Overall impressed with the relatively new Lonsdale wine bar and restaurant. The server possibly the owner was kind and attentive. He explained the drink and food menu well. I was impressed by the local selection of wines. The decor was clean and modern. The food was good but not great. The arancini were tasty but were lukewarm and would have been better hot. The crostini was also quite tasty but the bread was too thin so it was a tad soggy and the ratio between bread and topping was off. The beet salad was good but slightly overdressed. The potato bravas were quite good - wouldn't change a thing there! We finished with the gnocchi which was unexpected - they were quite small and firm - we were expecting soft fluffy gnocchis they weren't bad but it made the dish feel less substantial. The Brussel sprouts that were served with it were left whole and would have cooked more evenly if cut in half also biting into a whole sprout is kind of unpleasant. The dish wasn't bad but was a bit simple. We added the burrata as recommended which helped round out the dish. The creme brulee was poured too thin in the dish so was slightly overcooked and had an odd beige colour rather than creamy yellow - we wonder if they added some caramel to the custard? I would have ordered more but it took quite a while for the dishes to come out so we wanted to wrap things up we sat for about 2 hours. Overall it is a great spot for date night or drinks with the girls or guys, especially for the north shore.
I hate that I don't go here enough. I've been to 16 West for dinner and had a great meal and wonderful experience. Now they're serving brunch we wanted to check it out. We got the Belgium Waffles and the Steak Hash. In true form, these were utterly delicious. The waffles were light and fluffy with just enough crispness. It's served with multiple options and we got classic butter and syrup. The steak hash has strips of sirloin steak cooked to your preference and served with sauteed vegetables and fried potatoes with poacher eggs and the perfect amount of house made hollandaise. I got a side biscuit to help mop up the dish and the buttermilk biscuit is made in house and is what they use for the eggs Benedict features. A HUGE plus to me. To end this gluttonous repasse we had the coffee cake. It's served with marscapone and cheese cheese topping on the side and had blue berries baked into the cake. An absolute treat.... Service was excellent, as always, friendly, attentive, knowledgable. This is going to be part of regular rotation.
