Super underrated spot. Service and food are amazing. If you're gluten free it's a great place to get a quick meal. Arepas are surprisingly filling and portions are generous. Their bagel and biscuit sandwiches are amazing too, as are their smoothies and coffee drinks. The staff are super nice and give great service. If you've never had Venezuelan food for sure check this place out Vegetarian options: Lots of great vegetarian and vegan options Kid-friendliness: Good atmosphere for families Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, and you can ask for any order without dairy
I was recommended this place and came here for brunch with my girlfriend. It was delicious! The food came out quickly, about 8-10 minutes, and the portion was great for one person. The service was great and they had a great variety of arepas to choose from. I cant explain how good the food was, you just have to try for yourself
Just stopping by coffee with no expectation. I just move to Chicago living around this area and randomly got into this shop. Great first impression there is a nice neighborhood like this. Good vibes, decorations, and also interesting menus. Will come back to get some fresh breakfast soon!
One of the best spots to get arepas in town! The portions are generous, flavors always on point and the recipes are very traditional. Good coffee and great service. Business owned by latinx people!! You should give it try
there’s something about eating breakfast goodies out of an arepa that makes it better than anything. tasty and fresh. their iced caribbean coffee special is also excellent. the whole place is a bit of a wait — don’t come in if you’re in a hurry — but totally worth it.
Someone else said gluten free heaven, I 100% agree. The best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, including non gluten free sandwiches. I tried the Santa Monica, but they have plenty of non breakfast sandwiches to try too. So glad we walked past and saw the gluten free sign! Edit: went back and got the Island pork for lunch with goat cheese, bbq, carnitas and plantains. Amazing!
Been in the neighborhood since this spot opened up a couple of years ago and I've watched it become a popular spot. For good reason too. You can't go wrong with any of the biscuits and arepas for breakfast. A heads up that over the weekend they get busy and have pretty long waits for your food once you place your order. If I'm getting food there on a Saturday morning I usually order it online now.
First time today, so good! Wish I had gone sooner as I live close. Had my first arepa ever, tried the island pork and it was extremely delicious. Showed up in the last hour they were open but that did not affect the quality of the food which I believe shows the overall quality. 10/10 recommend!
It is a small self-service cafe, the arepas were ok, the perico arepa need a bit of salt, the Palm Shade Arepa is not very good, but the Eggie Biscuit was excellentRecommended dishesPerico Arepas
Best food we've eaten in Chicago and we've been here a week! The arepas are mind blowingly good and the smoothies are incredible too. Would eat here every day if we could. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic.Food: 5/5
