Here in Ottawa for a work conference, and my colleagues were recommended to eat here. Not usually a big poutine eater but I will come back next time I am in the city. The French fries are deep fried In Beef Tallow, finished in duck fat, yum yum! I had the BBQ Poutine, and others in the group had the Classic, the Quack and the Currie options. Not an unhappy face in the crowd. Congrats to John and his crew as they have only been open for 3-4 months. Do yourself a flavor, and go give it a try, you will not be disappointed!!!
We had the classic and the Thanksgiving special poutines *The depth of the flavor *The hospitable owner and great staff *The soft fries who are layered with flavor, because they add complexity to them before they layer the toppings *great prices Make this a must try if you are in the area
So impressed with how great this poutine was! The cheese curds were stringy, gravy was perfect and perfect seasoning. I recommend the sour cherry mint soda it’s very unique and refreshing. One of my fav sodas. Loaded Zups Poutine. They have a bench with some seating.
Getting my highest review —this is my second time visiting: the food is amazing, the staff are super friendly, and incredibly helpful. In fact trustworthy customers as I left my purse there the second time and they allowed me to come late and pick it up!! Five gold stars for ZUPS!!
Amazing poutine - had a great chat with the owner and he wasn't kidding around when he said it would be the best I'd ever had! The smoked cheese curds are to die for. I'm sad there's no equivalent back home in Toronto, but well worth the visit while in Ottawa!! I also really appreciate that the water is sold in cans over plastic - tastes better and great to see local businesses supporting environmental initiatives.
Went in for lunch with a friend. After having been to the Wakefield location I was delighted to see I could get their amazing food in the market too. The poutine was very tasty. Flavourful gravy, smoked cheese curds with fresh fries. I got the Quack, which was topped with duck confit as well. They have one of the best poutines in Ottawa. Friendly staff, nice decoration and overall vibe. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t regret it! 10/10
Where does a native westerner and former Quebecer go for date night? This place! The staff are absolutely gifted in their profession. They were friendly, engaging and passionate about making the absolute BEST poutine on the planet. Normally, after eating poutine, the guilt and zzzzs kick in. I'm not sure why, but there was none of this--just that amazing aftertaste that is strictly Zups--you want more. lol The selection of affordable vary rare Quebec products was so unique! We came for the poutine and left with handmade scented candles, out-of-this-world water and a full stomach. I can't recommend this place enough--the staff and the food here are a winning combination. We will be bringing every out-of-town guest here for the ultimate experience.

We ate there last night and was told we would have brown gravy,. Once arrived the gravy was light brown , fries were dark brown and last night we all had cramps and today in washroom. 60 dollars with drinks , not worth it.
Had the quack poutine it had duck confit and it was amazing! By far the best poutine in Ottawa. Very tasty, not salty and conveniently located in Byward Market. They also sell cheese curds which is handy. It’s a must eat place if you’re in the area.
