Tucker's Marketplace

Glad to have Tucker’s back in the market. The space seems smaller than before with fewer options. The staff seemed slightly overwhelmed with the crowd but they were all very nice. Good variety of food, and quality was good for a buffet. I think there is room for growth as the place just re-opened, but for the price the food was very good. Great wings and roast beef, good vegan options, and the addition of Indian dishes was nice. They still offer free food on your birthday which is awesome! I would visit again in the future.

TO ANYONE THINKING OF DINING HERE POST-COVID OPENING This is not the same tuckers that you ate at before the pandemic. The selection is embarrassing to say the least. You are paying 33 dollars for a buffet, you should get better choices than mac and cheese and stale chicken strips. They use to have an extensive salad bar selection that has since been reduced to a macaroni salad, potato salad, tomato salad and tuna salad are you just supposed to eat spoonfuls of tuna salad?... The carving station is a joke serving the most rubbery and salty beef, if you can even call it that. Almost all of the food we ate was cold even the "freshly brewed" coffee was somehow cold or looked like it was sitting out for hours; It was so bad that we heard neighboring tables complain about the same thing. The waitress even said that they've received this complaint more than once!!! What once was a charming and welcoming environment is now a cold no pun intended and uninviting place. I don't for a second buy this whole "we just opened and we're getting things sorted out". You are a restaurant carrying the name of a once beloved establishment. You do not open your doors to hopeful paying customers only for them to be completely blindsided by the lack of care put into this dining experience. If you did not have the proper equipment to keep your BUFFET food warm, you should NOT be open; from a food safety perspective, that is incredibly careless should absolutely not be allowed. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Seriously, save your money and go elsewhere if you can.

I have been a customer of Mother Tucker / Tucker's Marketplace for over 40 years. Many good times with family and friends. Glad to see the restaurant has reopened post Covid. We were anxious to try it again. The restaurant has downsized alot. The selection of food is limited. Although good, the food was not great tasting. The fresh prepared pizza is not up to restaurant quality. Crust taste like frozen pizza at best. Save your taste buds and pass on the pizza. Roast beef and pork were at the carving station and tasty. However, you better like frozen french fries. That was the only potato option. Would have been nice to have roasted, baked, or mashed potatoes. The food selection at the hot bar and salad bar was adequate. The desserts were okay, not great. No ice cream was offered. The buffet was $30 per person. Seniors get a small discount. All in all, our expectations were high. We wanted the old restaurant back. This reincarnation is a poor substitute. They have to get more creative in their food options to get people to come back other than on their birthday for the free meal. We did not enjoy our dining experience. There are other better AYCE options in town for not much more money.

Nowhere near like it was before… limited selection… table and drink menu was dirty and sticky… no pasta bar… no ice cream… food was bland… also, space is a lot smaller overall… had high hopes, too bad

2023: Super Disappointing, gross, dry, cold flavourless food. Under new management and with a completely new menu, this "Tucker's Marketplace" has not one thing in common with the past. There is no ice cream, no tacos, extremely limited selection, the hot foods are cold and the breads are stale. The home like ambience is gone, there is no décor, they seem to have taken inspiration from a hospital food court. This establishment brings shame to the "Tucker's" brand name. They should have opened under a new name if they are going to serve a completely ruined menu with a diminished concept. A shell of what it used to be. The price is better than other ayce in the area, but the food is so so much worse. You would be happier eating from a dumpster.

*UPDATE: June 2020 they’re officially closing all locations and blaming COVID-19. BS! This review from 2016 is even more accurate now!* Firstly, I actually think this place is amazing. We came here for the dinner buffet on a Friday night. The wait time was only 10 minutes-if that. The food was great! Flavourful, consistent, and diverse! The staff were kind and our waitress, Kelsey, was a joy to have. The reason my rating is so low is because of a few key issues I noticed whilst dining. 1. The ice cream bar has no attendant. I watched several women with long hair diving down to get a scoop of ice cream, their hair going with them and touching the food! 2. Less than 10 minutes to close, I observed the chefs completely fill several food bowls at the buffet. Now you may think that this is not an issue, but here's the kicker. ALL THE FOOD LEFTOVER AT THE END OF THE NIGHT IS THROWN OUT. Absolutely nothing is donated to food banks or soup kitchens. The fresh calamari I saw being put out will all go to waste. I can't believe this is allowed. It disgusted me and gave me severely mixed feelings about dining here. 3. There is no charges for wasting food. I watched several tables of people leaving full meals out and paying the bill. After talking to some of the waiters they expressed my same concerns. They watch people not eat all the food they get and leave with lots of uneaten food, with no repercussions. This is easily the least sustainable restaurant I have ever seen. I will never eat here again until major, publicized changes are made. I wish the government would fine businesses that waste as much food as Tucker's does.

The taste of the food is decent but the options are limited compared to other restaurants. As for the price, it is not that cheap neither. Around 30$ per person including tax and tip for dinner. Since the place is pretty big, wait time is very low. Finally, the service was very friendly and welcoming.

Been to this Buffet / restaurant several times over the years and to be quite honest it's been the same over the years and that's not always a bad thing consistency is the key to success we had a great time food was good the only negative thing is that the options are really dull and now that they've taken bacon out it's a head-scratcher. $26 for weekend dinner buffet you expect some high-end items on the menu but nope and since eclipse Buffet and emerald Buffet are both out of business this place is going to get busier it's interesting to see how they're going to handle the change in numbers.

Wonderful service. Excellent quality. What a beautiful experience. Fresh and healthy foods. Amaaaaazing salad bar and taco station!!! Made to order fresh pasta station!! Wonderful roast beef, and soooo much more. We had a birthday supper here and it was effortless. There is something here for everyone. This is a restaurant that demonstrates they care. A variety of food to choose from! Definitely a place for everyone! Have been going there for the past 5 years. Service is exceptional especially the manager. Student and birthday deals are available and facilities is awesome! Parking is easy to find. You can choose from patio or indoors. Always enjoy the ice cream there
