ZMC Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy founded by brothers and pharmacists, Jalal and Louis Zawaideh. Their vision in opening ZMC was to be different, much different from any pharmacy you have used before.

Story

ZMC is located in the south end of downtown Royal Oak in a historically restored building dating back to 1916. The pharmacy is also home to the Zawaideh Medical Center, a family medicine practice, and ZMC Pharmacy, a new-fashioned drug store. ZMC is the embodiment of revolutionary design, unparalleled product selection, and personalized attention.

The ZMC pharmacy has been my choice for prescriptions since I found them. Located on Main North of Holiday Market, they are located in the 1st beautiful building you come to heading North on the right side of the street. In fact the 5 years of service I have received 2 partial fills and zero times have I been told they were out of any medications. The staff is friendly and the turnover is low. I am greeted with a smile no matter my mood and no matter the line, which can occasionally get long, but rarely as in once every 10 visits. The selection of products like Wonder Salve, etc, are a distant memory of the old pharmacies we remember barely.

This is my go to pharmacy and it’s great for little gifts as well. I never have to wait long and all of the employees are real cool and friendly. In addition aside from the pharmacy the shop has really cool gifts and small seasonal items. They have everything from candles, plants and decor to fun science toys, puzzles, and stuffed animals. The shops items change periodically too so there’s always something new to look at or buy while you’re waiting.

Very comfortable atmosphere. Friendly service. Beautiful fair priced jewelry. This pharmacy has the best greeting cards and if you're in a rush to get a gift, there is something for everyone here:) I love this pharmacy/store.

I used to love coming to zmc for my script pick ups and being able to walk around and enjoy the nice things to look at, we'll yes they still have nice things to look at but the last three times I've been in to pick up my child's script they look at you like they don't know what they are doing. Every time I've gone in there recently there are different young workers behind the counter, completely just ringing you up and getting you out, they don't take the time to read the full name or the medicine they are handing you. I will not be returning to this pharmacy for script fillings.

ZMC reminds me of the pharmacies of yesteryear, but with a bohemian spin. Along with your usual array of drugstore fare, there is also a huge selection of bespoke toiletries and cosmetics and with cards and small gifts. The family run business is truly personal and they seem to pride themselves on having even obscure prescriptions available. They take most major insurance, so I don't see me going back to a chain pharmacy any time soon.
