Great place to have halal fast food and some juicy authentic kebabs. I tried their Chicken Fajita wrap and Chicken kebabs, was a good experience both the times! They put loads of fries with the combo meal!
Whenever a restaurant has some sort of mango drink, it always seems to be good. As other reviews suggested, my friends 4 people and I got the afghani family platter. All the shami were flavourful and cooked well, aside from maybe the chicken breast, but i mean it's chicken breast right? There was a lot of salad, maybe not enough sauce to go around, and it could use some more meat. We found ourselves with way too much salad and some rice at the end with not much sauce and no meat to go with it. The naan bread was room temperature and chewy. It would be nice if these were a little more thin and crispy, but maybe that's just my preference. They definitely tasted more like a chewy piece of pan bread than naan in my opinion. All in all a pretty good experience.
***we tried their family platter today and it was again yummy..loved their salad dressing and their salad platter is very tasty. *****We tried their afghani family platter and loved the food..ordered 2 extra skewers of chicken tikka as well..the hummus was very tasty...the chutney had the perfect spice..the presentation was amazing..salad was the freshest..the best part was that you didn't put any pickles...we tried this platter for the very first time from this restaurant and are very impressed!!!
Got my food in under 15 minutes. Was a huge meal for a decent price. Was the best Halal chicken I have had! Place is clean, staff is friendly.
The food was fresh and staff was courteous enough to explain choices and their menu. The ingredients were of good quality and their kebabs and salad are good though broasted chicken was ok for me.
I was craving fried chicken, and of course I always try to find local, so we decided to try Zaky, a family owner restaurant in the west end of ottawa, on Clyde and Baseline. This place was also recommended by a fellow foodie, as they have a great philly cheesesteak. The restaurant was really nice, lots of space to eat, and the staff were super friendly and inviting, they were happy to hear that someone recommended their restaurant. They have lots of options on their menu. We got the family meal deal, 9 piece, large frie, dips and 4 dinner rolls. I also grabbed a poutine and the must try philly sandwich. When we got home everything was this hot and looked delicious! The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and not to greasy. Their method of cooking their chicken is called Broasting I put their description in the pictures. The philly cheesesteak was good, lots of meat, I would have loved a little more cheese but otherwise it was delicious sad I had to share with hubby lol and as for the poutine, the gravy was really good, our 5year old loved it very much and she was excited to see cheese curds lol. Food is goos but the customer service is terrible. Two ladies behind the counter just gossiping in arabic and not moving a single finger to clean the place. Me and my family sat on one pf the tables and it was so dirty, my husband grabbed the spray bottle and paper towel they have it on top of the garbage can and he started cleaning and wiping and the 2 ladies looking at him without saying anything. Meanwhile, the other people on the other tables were leaving and the ladies didn't even go clean their tables. The place in awkward because there is no music at all, and when someone calls to place an order, they put the phone on speaker so everybody cam hear the conversation. Not coming back.
Reasonable prices but average taste. The rating is for burgers & broast because we did not try the Afghani side of the menu. We liked the broast as it was freshly cooked & tender. Beef burger was just ok. Same goes for Grilled Chicken burger which had little to no taste. Philly Steak Sandwich was a disappointment.It is just dry beef on a sandwich. There was no sauce at all on the meat & no taste. They provided sauces on the side but they were all relevant to the Kabab menu. Overall, ok food & polite customer service. Maybe next time, we will try the Kabab platters & wraps.
Overpriced, undercooked! The place though new, already feels dated and if you can avoid the bathroom at all costs. The staff are very friendly and accommodating though. The spice balance is way off! There’s no real taste to the meat. The sauce provided on the side was bland and didn’t add to the meal. Unlikely that this place would be deserving of a return trip.
