York Bay Place

We arrived on a Rainy Saturday afternoon disheartened. That is until we walked into our "Rose" cottage. two story 1 and a half bath 1 bedroom balcony cottage did not disappoint. This rustic rough around the edges cottage was perfect to feel centered grounded at peace and ready to soak up the Island. A perfectly tucked away location a short drive to everywhere and great base camp for exploration. Julie our host was an absolute treat to deal with and tremendously accommodating of our needs. We will be back.

We stayed in one of the camper trailers for the weekend of cavindish beach music festival, at first it was nice, but quickly realized it wasent as nice as it seemed. There was quite a bit of ants on the inside, and a squirrel that lived in the walls that came out and ate some food in the mornings, the bathroom floor was rotten and only held together by the vinyl flooring, shower leaked, toilet would back up sometimes for 12+ hrs at a time for no reason, and the a/c vent smelled like something was dead up there. When i told the owner about our bad experiences they offered us tims gift cards…. So i guess that makes the $500 stay in a place worth no more than $200 for the weekend okay? The gift cards were only for $5 each aswell…. Wont be staying again. The woman we spoke with was very friendly though which was nice.

I just spent 5 days there with my husband. It is a quiet place with rustic charm. The views are amazing. Julie was a great host. She made sure our stay went well. York Bay place is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation at an affordable price.

We booked the Rose cottage and have been living in relaxation for the last 2/4 days of our stay and I am leaving a review now before our departure date because I am just so thrilled. The owners are amazing people who are available for your questions and hardworking to make sure the stay is perfect. Nightly campfires, daily glorious sunrise views, super close to the beach and nature park with free bikes to use, close to Green Gables Museum, it's a super jumping point to tourist destinations. Inside the cottage are all the amenities you would need to cook and enjoy, extra blankets, guides to PEI and even a copy of Anne of Green Gables to read!! Cable tv and very reliable internet also, a pleasure after patchy WiFi in Nova Scotia. Everything is very clean and nice. Stay here. You will be very happy you did

We're walking the Island Walk and were lucky to find this place. Clean, comfortable, a great porch for early morning coffee, and Julie made us feel at home.

Had a great stay! Coffee machine broke but owners were prompt with a replacement. Beautiful location, super close to Brackley Beach. Julie was a super host! Porch was great with rocking chairs to relax on with a cup of coffee.

The owner was very accommodating to any problems we had. For example the cleaning person put in a scent diffuser which both us and the owner think are disgusting. She took it away and promised to talk to the cleaner about it. Really very nice person. The heat worked very well, which is necessary when you're going off-season. The fridge was stocked with drinking water since the tap water hadn't been tested yet. There was plenty of space for any other food we bought. The kitchen had all the essential pots and pans and utensils to make meals with. The TV has all the functionality of a Roku built into it, and as such has access to the same online services. Good location, very close to the national park as well as Shaw's Hotel. Easily bikeable or walkable.

We spent two truly memorable weeks here. This was our fifth trip to PEI. And of all the summer retreats we've rented on the Island in the last 30 years, I can honestly vouch for the uniqueness of York Bay Place--the great service, the owners' human warmth and a scenery absolutely to die for! We feasted our eyes on the blue bay. That's where the sun rises! All the cottages on the property face that way, I believe, but these lovely cottages are so cleverly placed that we woke up to PEI's incredible sunrises in comfortable privacy and had breakfast on the patio surrounded by beautiful old trees, with just the perfect sunshine to keep us warm at 7 a.m.! There was one added pleasure for me, personally. The owners, who are well-educated, were not only unstinting when trying to please us; they also managed to satisfy my need for some good conversation! What a place of tranquility and uncomplicated relaxation!

This was home base for your trip and it was perfect. Plenty to do nearby like Brackley Beach provincial park, plus it was 20 mins away from Charlottetown. Both sides of the island were less than a two hour drive to reach. The hosts were amazing and the other guests were so friendly and regulars which says a lot about the hosts as well. We will come back here again, our family of four loved it!!!

They take days to reply to emails. All 3 phone #'s on their website have been disconnected. They kept getting my dates wrong on my reservation. They kept telling me things were broken or missing and they couldn't afford to fix them. They offered me a certain cottage and after I agreed they emailed me back saying they couldn't do it. They also kept changing the price on me and I'd have to argue with them and copy/paste their quote to me from previous emails. They seem very shady, like they're up to something. I ended up cancelling my reservation because they were just too hard to deal with! I suggest you find somewhere else to stay so it doesn't ruin your vacation!
