My friend Neko-chan talked to me about this neat cheese cake shop called Yoko and I've finally got to go with her. The shop is almost hidden when crossing Les cours Mont-Royal corridor shortly after exiting the peel metro. There are four circular tables to sit on and we can easily see the cheese cakes on display. My friend ordered for me, so I didn't get a feel of the customer service. I got the matcha cheese cake freshly made an hour or two out of the oven. It has a very airy / puffy feel and the matcha is clearly present. There is also a light sweetness that I like. The cardboard bag is quite thick in materiel and reusable. One of the founders was present and was very courteous and knowledgable about the shop. He has an interesting outlook about business and how to make an efficient shop. An all around great experience!
By the metro station entrance , I have had better Japanese cheesecake, taste is ok , a bit heavy not as it should be . I didn't like the Macha cheesecake. Very friendly staff and clean, open kitchen concept ,
The most fluffiest and most amazing Japanese cheesecakes I have had ever!!! I got both their matcha and original cheesecakes and my god it was so good. I am a huge New York cheese cake fan and thought nothing could stand up to that and damn I was so wrong..this is light, not so sweet and yum! They are so affordable so you may end up buying more than 2!
Delicious Japanese cheesecake, tried both the cheesecake and the tart but the crust on the tart was a bit thick. Would recommend to try their cheese drinks too!
Tried their mochi red bean soup at food festival, it’s really good and the strawberry dafuku!
Mochi is sooo good! Matcha bubble latte was as good but I loved the Mochiiii so much : And the service was excellent, really helping :
Egg tart crust is a bit thick, but overall it is pretty good.
EDIT: I was offered a free cheesecake to sample and it was in fact delicious. I will be a regular customer here not only because of the tasty cheesecake but also because of their great customer service. Original review: I got cheesecakes here several times and it was very good every time except the latest. The latest one tasted bland and not at all of cream cheese. Perhaps they changed the recipe, but hopefully it was just a bad batch.
I ordered a large cheese tart one day before picking it up. It was to be shared with a friend. The cake wasn't solid inside, it was completely liquid. When I cut the cake it just oozed everywhere. I went back to ask them why the tart doesn't look like what they're advertising and they said I would need to set the cake in the fridge. But why wouldn't you tell me this prior to the purchase? I wouldn't go to a restaurant and expect to have to finish cooking my meal at home later. I went back again to give this place another try, in hopes that they have improved. This time the cheese tart is solid in the middle but the cake/dough was undercooked. This place has been a let down every single time. Wouldn't recommend it, overpriced and disappointing.
I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The cheesecake is amazing, so different from anything else out there. The texture is light and fluffy, and the taste is just a little sweet so not overwhelming at all - makes it easy to go for seconds! The staff is also very friendly which is always a huge plus for me!
