Upon entering the restaurant you can immediately tell that a lot of thought and detail went into it. We were checked in right away and taken to our table which was a little cozier than I'd anticipated tables close to each other but the view made up for it. The waiters were friendly, knowledgeable and knew the menu items very well. They made any changes we asked for without any issues. The food and desserts were all very tasty and full of flavor. The cubed potatoes were very very spicy as there is fresh Thai chilies mixed in, they were so good I finished the whole thing you can always ask for no chillies. The pricing is on point, very reasonable for what you get. The only down side is the salad 21 bucks for greens is a bit high but I still had to try it! Needless to say it was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to couples and adults enjoying time together not really Meant for kids. Over all everything was 10/10.. I will definitely return. Keep in mind you do need to call or book a table online.
Words could not describe the experience we had at Yasma. Unfortunately because they were fully booked and us not having a reservation we were seated at the bar, which was our first and memorable moment. Mo & Dora who took care of us, taught us so much about the restaurant and the food, which would most likely not happen if we were placed at a table. The food we ordered was well presented and delicious. The restaurant is chic, clean, and filled with polite, friendly, and professional dressed staff. If you are looking for a restaurant that is away from all the hustle and bustle with a beautiful view, I recommend this gem! Thank you Mo & Dora for the memorable experience!
My wife and I are visiting from Boston. This is our first time eating Syrian/Lebanese food. Staff was friendly. Really appreciated the person recommending the spiced potato dish to us, adding extra olive oil to our eggplant dish, and taking our photos around the restaurant. The spiced potato went so well with the Eggplant mutabbal dish we ordered. My favorite was the Aleppo kebab. The lamb kebab was cooked perfectly and it was so flavorful with the different spices they used. Also loved the charred vegetables and different salads that came with the dish. I knew very little about Mediterranean/middle eastern food, but after yesterday I have a whole new appreciation for how healthy and delicious middle eastern food is.
I was really looking forward to going to this restaurant especially cause of the high rating. However, the food was mediocre; great presentation but very unseasoned. The spicy potatoes was good but again very unseasoned. The burger was very mediocre. I would not go again cause I was so disappointed. The service however was very good. Rosa, our waitress, was phenomenal and everyone was friendly.
Ordered the Aleppo Kebab, Shish Kibbeh, and a creamy chicken dish. The latter was absolutely exquisite unfortunately, if you’ve really had a lot of good Syrian food across the planet then it’s tough to give this place a higher rating. Maybe in Vancouver this is good but, here too there isn’t much value. A lot of the cost here is driven by the fantastic location and beautiful interior. Perfect setting with good food but given the value the good wasn’t that great. Probably would go again and see the consistency.
Being a Vancouverite I’m still in awe on how Vancouver’s diverse food and culture has grown over the years AND yesterday I had a taste of Lebanese/Syrian food at Yasma. It was absolutely divine! The quality, the flavor, location and ambiance was truly an amazing experience. The staff were professional and friendly even when the restaurant was full they took time to chat and provide a unique middle eastern flair to the evening. It was my first time to have Fatoush salad - amazing! Lamb - flavorful and melts in your mouth. Arabic coffee and cheese/nut pastry for dessert was a beautiful finish to such a wonderful evening. It was like going to the Middle East without leaving my backyard. Truly awesome!
We ended up ordering Babba Ganouch, Fattoush Salad, Fried Kibbeh and Skewer of the Day. Babba Ganouch is made of eggplant with some roti pita bread on the side. Those roti is great and they come out hot to touch hence extremely fresh and tasty. I’m not sure what the proper way of eating that was but we just filled the roti with Babba Ganouch and it was great. Our server also brought more roti before we even asked. Fattoush salad was fantastic with great taste and little carb. Fried kibbeh was a little underwhelming though the dipping sauce was great. Overall I think this place has great service. Our server was very attentive and took the time to explain and recommend dishes for us. The food we had tasted great and looked pleasant too.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Vancouver and I’ve been to a lot of places. The food is fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was also extremely friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to eat.
Hands down the best Middle Eastern food in town! Only been 7 weeks since they opened! Loved the Ambiance and amazing service if you would like to dine-in, make sure you reserve first. Can't wait to be back with more friends and try other dishes
The resturant just opened,March 2022. This point considered on my review. Food was great. We had appetizers which were so delicious and all of enjoyed. The only point is that cost of appetizers is same as foods. This is the point that I think owners should be considered. Staffs are great and polite. Service was good and fast. Try it for sure but I suggest to have less appi and more food
