Update: Appointment August 25, 2017
I was scheduled for a follow up visit which should take only 5 or 10 minutes. Arriving at 4:55pm for my 5:00pm appointment, my co-pay was collected and I was told to have a seat. A number of patients came in after me and were processed prior to me. Maybe they were also assigned for the 5pm time? I was finally called into the exam room at 6:40pm where my blood pressure was taken, and I was told that the doctor would be right with me. I waited one hour for the doctor to come in. (7:40pm). So I saw the doctor for 10 minutes. I'm not going back to this office. It's administered very poorly. You don't need to wait that long either.
Previous experiences:
I've had two recent visits to Dr. Sami's office for what I consider my annual check up. I believe that his qualifications as a doctor are fine. It's the management of his office that is a real problem. I've had an appointment each time and it was a three hour wait the first visit. My wife almost called the State Police to see if I was in an accident since I didn't show up for dinner on time. On the second visit I arrived at 4pm on schedule and saw that there were 6 people already waiting. A quick computation, 6 times 15 = an hour and a half wait. The office called me two days prior to my visit to remind me that I had a 4pm appointment. Surely there must not be a backlog when they are reminding me to be on time. The purpose of the visit was to receive feedback from a blood test that was done as a result of the previous visit. This should be a 15 minute visit or could have been done over the phone by a nurse. The attendant agreed that I could go home, a three minute drive, and wait for a call from them. The estimated wait would be about an hour. An hour and a half later, no phone call yet, I went back into the office ( 5:30pm) and they told me I was in queue with two people ahead of me. The people ahead of me were still 4pm patients. I'll bet the blood was boiling by now. I called my wife to let her know that I'll be waiting for awhile. Don't call the police.
I made comment to several of the other patients that I was a 4pm appointment. They assured me that that's the way things worked in that office. You never get to see the doctor for a number of hours. At 6pm I was ushered into a private waiting room and the nurse took my BP, weight and temp, asked a number of questions and told me the Dr. would be right in. ( 6:10pm). The Dr. arrived at 6:28pm & I was out of there at 6:42pm. Total time with Dr. 14 minutes & 10 minutes with the nurse.
I don't believe there's any excuse for keeping patients waiting that long. It's a complete disrespect for people's time. Other reviews over quite a period of time indicate that this was no "we've had a lot of emergencies today" situation. The boy cried "Wolf!" once too many times.

Great care. Call maybe a half hour or hour each time before your appointment, to see how the schedule is going that day. If you get a suggested delay time, call before that time, also. Emergencies come up or patients require more time to be heard and helped. When you see this experienced doctor, you know he is listening to you, that he has reviewed your file, and that alternatives were fully weighed with your best health in mind. If you are not upset by a long office wait, just bring lots to do and chat with others. The staff is friendly, ethical, and competent. You are not just a billable visit in this office, but a person who receives the doctor's best alternatives for your well being. Try to follow his advice. Everyone in his office seems very dedicated.

If they tell you to be on time, expect to wait 45 minutes or more. Dr. Yasin is wonderful and takes the time with each patient. However this always leaves a MASSIVE backlog for every other appointment. The doctor needed to see me for my 4th appointment (which only took 5 minutes with him) yet I still had to wait for him to do two full work ups on other patients which took an hour and half. Instead of following the schedule implicitly, the staff should actually use their brains for once to optimize daily patient schedule.

Dr. Yasin has been my physician now for many years. Yes, the office is crowded, and often times the wait is longer than I'd like. But his continual education, the fact that he has interest in following and researching alternative methods, is up to speed on current medicine all make that worthwhile. I've never encountered a staff of such wonderful people that I have actually started to think of them as friends, people I care about. They genuinely care for us patients. In fact, it is now 6:30pm on a Friday night and they will likely be there till 11pm, taking care of anyone that needs the help that bad.
The critical fact that he always takes the time needed to care for me when he eventually gets there - offering me insight into new studies that could help me, general principles that might not be "mainstream" (yet) help me understand that he is not just a 'take a number' and pushed through the mill kind of doctor. Today he spotted what might be causing an issue unrelated to my condition, and immediately had me scheduled for ultrasound and blood work, all done in the building within 45 minutes. Would you rather go to an MD that was unpopular, always empty, who just pushed pills? Don't go here.
Dr. Yasin is a winner - why else would his office always be filled?

Yes, the wait time is awful for most appointments, However, Dr. Yasin is one of the most thorough, competent, and caring doctors I have ever been to. Isn't that what it's all about? The wait time is worth it for the care you get. And his staff is always pleasant. I love the advice and information I get from his nurse Kim, the "nutrition guru." It is priceless. Dr. Yasin changed my life with regard to nutrition and knowledge.
