Sad to hear they are closed. Was such a treat and something I looked forward to after a session at camp. Kids enjoyed the burger & fries and the gift shop. Thank-you for the nice memories!
Had a great burger and Greek salad with chicken. Fun little place to stop, the shop here is really cool with lots of different art and artisan items. Outside is full of more art and wooden and metal carvings and sculptures. The entire place is impeccably tidy as well. Service is perfectly small town.
Woodys is an amazing local gem on Hwy 28 with great homemade burgers, and local ice cream. The seating and eating areas are socially distanced and very serene, being adjacent to a river and a forest. The service is also very polite and thoughtful. There is also a store with locally produced art. The bathroom is a port a potty, so from a rest stop perspective, its just average, but there is an attempt to keep them clean one star lost for requiring a better bathroom option
An Apsley landmark. Local artists with the most amazing wood carvings and furniture. We were told that the store is dedicated to supporting it's artists and culture. An amazing learning and shopping opportunity. We got a musical spoon clapper for our 5 year old grand daughter. Her parents were not as thrilled as she was after three hours of entertainment in an enclosed vehicle. LOL
My husband and I were sad to discover that Woody's is now closed and up for sale. We look forward to stopping on our way in and out of the cottage for a bite and a wander through the store for unique local wares. I hope that someone buys the place soon and puts it to rights. Woody's is by far the best place in town.
I only had the chips but they were delicious and the staff were friendly. It's a nice outdoor seating area to take a break from the road.
We were excited for a chip truck after a long day outdoors. The prices were a little high. We purchased 3 cheeseburgers and a large fry, for total of $37. The food was ok but not what we expected at that price point. I asked the lady politely for an extra ketchup, she looked at me, said no, and then walked away. It was very rude and I was surprised. I would have given 3 stars as the fries were good, but they had no salt and were lacking ketchup for dunking.
We've been going past this place for years, but thought we'd try it on our trek south today. Friendly service, with an outdoor Courtyard to sit in. They provide sanitizer for the tables paper towels and hand sanitizer. It's a cute setup with local wood carving for purchase around the property. The burger is fairly simple. Unfortunately both our meat patties were dry. Fries were well portioned.
The people who work here are simply lovely, and the scenery is quirky. We ordered a large fries we ate about 1/3 before the photo was taken, which were hot and brown and delicious. A little pricy at $8.50 but a nice road trip treat. Well worth a stop.
The fresh cut fries are a family favorite when in Apsley and it's lovely to sit at a picnic table out back among the wood carvings. The shop is also very cute with a range of artisan made arts and crafts. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
