With the Grain

One of the best bakeries in the city and that's saying a lot. Leave yourself time if you plan on going, there's usually a lineup given that the bakery can only hold 3-4 customers at once and their products are high demand. They have a rotating schedule of bread and pastries, so you could try something different every day of the week. I'm a fan of their farmer's loaf sourdough and the Lost Aviator coffee, which they also sell in bags to take home. With the Grain is a staple in Guelph. You'll love it.

Loved dealing with Jayne at the bakery! Ordered right online which was very easy and convenient ..for the millenial in me who hates using the phone We got a cake and cupcakes! Delicious and worth it. Support local business!

I’ve travelled all through Europe and tried more bakeries than I can count…but this one is hands down my favourite. The almond croissants are the best ones I’ve ever had, and I would recommend everything else in there as well. Sometimes there’s a line up, but it’s 100% worth the wait. I recommend this place to anyone who will listen :

Great bread, they also sell local eggs and Lost Aviator coffee. However the service is so slow. 15-20 minutes just to buy a loaf of bread despite there always seeming to be at least three people behind the counter, even with a short line up. It’s taken so long before that I’ve given up and left. I hope they can sort this out, everything else is very good.

Best bakery in Ontario! BUT staff should always ensure baked goods that are packed in the WHITE cardboard are placed FIRST into a plastic bag and the brown bags on top. NOT the brown bags first into the plastic bag then the white box on top on the brown paper bags bc it falls sideways -basic physics. Also when taking a coffee order and bakery order on busy days, pls ensure you are getting customers BAKED GOODS FIRST and not the coffee orders on busy days. The employee serving me got my coffee orders first then blamed another employee for taking the baked good that someone behind me ordered.. that’s not really nice. I felt bad for the young girl being told she gave away my baked good as she knew nothing of it, she was just doing her job well and the one serving me couldn’t take accountability for not prioritizing baked goods over coffees on busy days. Tighten up.

The almond croissants are the best ones I’ve ever had, and I would recommend everything else in there as well. Cakes decorations are amazingly done . Thanks . Highly impressed .

Whenever I come to Guelph I have to stop at With the Grain and their associated bakery across the street to grab some baked goods. The lemon squares are fantastic and my definite favourite. There are not many vegan or gluten free options but I have seen more flourless desserts pop up. They also have a bread schedule depending on the day of the week so you always know it is fresh.

Made my first purchases of bakery items today relied on delivery as recuperating from surgery—and what a cornucopia! These folks blend artistry and attention into the mix, and the results are scrumptious! I’ll be a regular, no question.
