Everything from here is delicious! I've been a few times whenever I'm downtown and have cash with me! I'm no authority on European authenticity of baked goods, but I don't think that matters with how tasty and fresh the food always is. I've heard from other people this place is legit if that matters to you. I'm personally a fan of the croissants, and had the pleasure of having their red pepper and potato soup today perfect for the cold weather! Support local, indulge on some incredible pastries and breads without any regret!

It's abusive so good the pastries are at this place! The chocolate almond croissant is out of this world. And they're open early on weekends, perfect beginning of the day.

I returned! I bought their brownies. Wow! Must try! They will knock your socks off! My favourite foods here: brownie, cinnamon danish, chocolate chip danish, sausage roll, and croissant. Tip: Eat Eric's danishes immediately. I picked up his chocolate Danish around 10 am and instantly ate part of it, and it was better fresh and slightly warm compared to when I ate the other half 30 minutes later. It was still good later though. See my pics and read my captions for more details. Older Review: This baker really knows his pastries! I was stunned at the quality and for such a reasonable price! All of my items 4 came to $15. They are a cash only place. This business is closed Sunday through Tuesday. I am definitely coming back! Wow, what perfect pastry! You will feel and taste the difference in quality here! I would definitely have the sausage rolls and croissants again! Thank you to the customer that highly recommended them to me!

It's the closest we have to a European bakery in Guelph that isn't ordering their product from some larger place in Toronto. Down sides only takes cash, and NEVER has enough product and located in one of the worst placed to quickly park/grab/go. Biggest issues is he is ALWAYS sold out of canelés. If that is the case needs to know his market and have more available. It would be great if other bakeries started to offer them in Guelph hint hint wink wink

Literally the best. I have had croissants in France and Quebec, and Eric’s are the best-hands down. I have tried many items and never been dissatisfied. Special mention for the sausage rolls!

Eric the Baker is the crown jewel of Guelph. Their pastries are fantastic and in my opinion can easily be ranked amongst the best nationwide. Their pain au chocolat in particular is exceptional. I only wish they were open more often and accepted other payment methods, but this is a minor quibble.

Discovered the place a couple of years ago. The pain a raisin is totally over the top right. Today, I thought I had found the one bakery that actually makes the 'Napoleon millefeuille' / Tom Pouce Carre pastry, but here I was disappointed - they make it with whipped cream, whereas it should be made with a baker's custard according to all the old French recipes.

Clearly a very skilled Baker. Quality of the baked goods is apparent. Every bite is an experience. Danishes, croissants, oh joy! Prices are reasonable. Wait time could be a bit long but worth every second. Take a picture of the schedule so you know when to show up for your favourite items. Been here twice so far and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back. If a 6th star was available this place would get it for sure. Update: ordered a cake for a birthday. Quite frankly the best mousse cake I've ever tasted. It was a hit. Such a hit that pics didn't happen until it was almost too late.

Eric the Baker has hands-down, the BEST service. I ordered a croque monsieur and a blueberry danish and didn't realize that this was a cash-only store. By the time they tallied up my total, I was short by $2. When I mentioned that I was short, they said 'No worries, it's only $2!' and gave me both items As a small business during a pandemic, their small act of kindness is especially touching. Thank you Lauren!!! Not only was the service outstanding, the food was delicious. I only wish that I came earlier with more cash on hand, as I hear that they typically sell out of their popular items in the morning. I will definitely make the drive to Guelph again, solely to visit Eric the Baker
