Story

Willmar Regional Cancer Center (WRCC) is part of Willmar Medical Services, a joint venture of Rice Memorial Hospital and ACMC Health and affiliated with Virginia Piper Cancer Institute. WRCC is a Community Cancer Program accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and a participant in the Metro Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium, a non-profit research program sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. Participation in this program provides people in our community access to the newest therapies available for cancer treatment, management of treatment side effects and disease symptoms, and cancer prevention. Willmar Regional Cancer Center provides outreach cancer care in Litchfield, Montevideo, Redwood Falls and Marshall.

At Willmar Regional Cancer Center, we offer a patient-centered approach to cancer care. That means working closely with everyone on the care team, including the radiologist, surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, primary care physician, cancer navigator, pharmacist, nutritionist, family, and caregivers.

Together, we develop a personalized care plan based on the patient’s individual needs, preferences, and input. Sometimes that involves being seen at a different cancer facility, but choosing to receive your treatments locally. Our oncologists work collaboratively with other cancer teams around the state and nation to allow patients to receive local care whenever possible.
