A friend of mine relayed this story to me about this business.  The following is 2nd hand information:

"We stopped in to pick-up some drywall.  The place is a residential property with commercial buildings on it.   it has a big iron rod security fence and cameras all over the place. 

We got inside, there was a young lady there who wasn't very welcoming, in truth she seemed uncomfortable with us dropping in.  Maybe they don't get a lot of people off the street.  We asked how much Drywall was.  Their Kijiji ad said "$6.98 / sheet.  She said that they were all out of that kind of drywall, and all they could offer us was $7.99 / sheet. drywall.  She then tells us they are completely out of stock of drywall and that if we needed it, we could go pick it up at their "supplier"  PBS in Mississauga.  Surprised, we asked her what kind of drywall it was.  She pointed to the wall and said 'that kind'.  On the wall, there were 2 price increase notifications: LAFARGE USA, and GEORGIA PACIFIC USA.  This despite the fact that their website says "Canadian materials only".  We asked about CGC or Canadian CertainTeed drywall, because some jobs we do require materials to be CCMC approved and have a warranty.  They couldn't get it.  We had heard stories about this 'broker board' coming across the border having mold, or being too brittle and if there is a problem, there is no warranty.  All sales final.

"We ended up going to PBS to pick up the Drywall.  The warehouse had USA made Lafarge and Georgia Pacific drywall.  We ended up getting the GP stuff as Lafarge is crap.  It was just a garage job we were doing, so we were fine with that.

"I would say Wholesale Drywall Direct appeared to be somewhat shady overall.  Too much security & not welcoming, tonnes of attitude and running out of stock, what is this, consumers distributing?  They seem like they might be on their way out.

"My advice would be to pay more for Canadian made stuff, from a legit dealer."

WOW the owner is so rude. i don't understand how you can have such low manner and actually try to get some where in this business. risk dealing with them and for sure be lied to your face :)
