After a long day on the road 9 hour drive, I happily ordered an avocado chicken salad to go and settled into my hotel room. Finally ready to dig in, I discovered there was no chicken on the salad. I called them, and unhappily headed back out to pick up a replacement. I am including a picture, as I'm pretty sure you can see for yourself that the cold chicken looks like croutons and tastes like leather. Not the "pit roasted" description from the menu, that's for sure! All of this for the unreasonable price of $16.50. I ate the lettuce, egg, and avocado and threw the chicken in the garbage. Most expensive side salad ever.
What a disaster this place has become. We came out here three years in a row and were always very happy with the food and service. It’s been a few years since we’ve been able to make it, so we were excited to come back. The place is a total train wreck now. They were out of prime rib, ribeye, pork, brisket, and ribs. Waitress said they were out of the bloomin onion after we ordered it, came back and said they actually had one. When we finally got it, it was terrible. Clearly just grabbed a yellow onion instead of sweet onion because they ran outand it was quite honestly disgusting. This wasn’t the worst part though….they brought out our food and I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Our table couldn’t control our laughter at how ridiculous it was. It was basically the thinnest piece of beef jerky thrown on a hard piece of bread…and that was it! Waitress was at least really nice and even agreed the sandwich was embarrassing. I’m not sure what changed but this place is horrible now.
Amazing meal! We started with the appetizer platter then split a 16 oz prime rib. Needless to say we are taking a to-go box home, FULL. They were short staffed, but the wait was worth it!
We are in town for the kids pedal tractor pull. Went out for dinner. When we first walked in they said it would be an hour wait. We decided to sit at the bar. Best decision we made. We meet Leo the bartender. He made the whole night worth the wait. Very friendly Very helpful and the food was great. I would recommend even with the wait. Hopefully they will find people who want to work. Amber you are doing a great job with the resources you have to work with. Thank you.
Update Second time, smoker not working, no pork or brisket. Bartender and servers were the nicest, friendliest, smiling faces letting me know they were out of most everything including many beers. Service at one star is for the owners serving the customers, not the actual workers, I feel for the front line staff. First trip Went to the bar, found a seat, was there 10 mins and no service. Employees passed by me, never said anything. Watched two different people make drinks. There was one other customer at the bar and two groups eating at tables. Food smelled good, I was hungry and thirsty. Got up and left.
The struggles of a restaurant with a lack of staff is so hard. The food and service was really good. The staff did there best to provide good service
The steaks we’re tasteless and over cooked at first. We sent the steaks back and they still had no flavor. The waitress was good but the food was horrible. This was the filet mignon. It was less than 1/2in thick.
We decided to head out in the snow and wind and it was worth it! We had great service and great food. We learned that at one point the management was different and in the past three months the new management has really done a great job!!! The prime rib was excellent and the top sirloin was excellent! We even had a birthday dessert that was huge, thick and very rich! A great place to celebrate and our waitress D was the best!
Watch out when you use your credit card because Whiskey Creek likes to cheap people out of their money my mom literally just called and told them about her bill that she paid $61.05 and then the lady on the phone said it was supposed to be $62.95 and then she got another receipt saying $66.95. And I have both receipts to prove it, believe it or not that's how waitresses get extra tips out of you
This place is filthy. I remember when I could come in and have exquisite service from the waitresses and waiters and now they are all rude/impatient/forgetful and frankly a pig could do a better job at taking orders. My salad was a pitiful excuse as a side. Lettuce was wilted brown and majority was carrot sticks and purple onion. Didn't even fill the bowl. SERVED a measly portion of 1000 Island that tasted rotten. Manager appeared to do absolutely nothing. Wife is a professional food critic. This establishment needs to be condemned.
