We’ve been shopping at West Coast Kids Richmond Hill for over a year and have spent thousands of dollars here on strollers, car seats, clothing, toys, and other baby products.nnThe products they carry are great, and the store itself is clean, comfortable, and pleasant to shop in. That’s really the reason for the two stars instead of one.nnUnfortunately, the service has consistently been the weakest part of the experience. We continue coming back mainly because there are limited alternatives nearby with this selection of products, rather than because we enjoy shopping here.nnThe staff often seem more interested in talking among themselves than engaging with customers. When someone does approach and ask, “Do you need help?”, it often feels like something they are required to say rather than a genuine willingness to help. On some visits, we’ve also had staff closely shadow us while we were browsing, to the point that it made us feel like we were being watched rather than welcomed as customers.nnWhat’s most disappointing is the overall lack of warmth and passion. The staff may say the “right” things, but the interactions often feel scripted and insincere. After shopping here regularly for more than a year, this doesn’t feel like an issue with one particular employee — it feels like a management and training problem.nnWe’re not expecting luxury-level service. We just want staff who seem happy to be there, genuinely interested in helping families, and who create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.nnWest Coast Kids carries excellent products and has a very nice store. It’s unfortunate that the customer experience doesn’t live up to it.
We had a wonderful experience thanks to Sadaf! She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping us make the right choice. She spent a lot of time showing us and comparing several stroller options, explaining the features, pros and cons of each one, and making sure we understood everything.nShe also gave us a thorough explanation of the car seats and helped us choose the best option for our needs. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured—she simply wanted to make sure we were happy with our decision.nThank you, Sadaf, for your outstanding customer service and all your help. We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into assisting us. Highly recommended!
Have been to this store a couple times and the experience has been great. For our most recent visit, Cecil helped us out and was absolutely amazing. So knowledgeable and very easy to talk to when deciding which car seat to buy. He really took the time to walk us through the different options and made the whole process seamless. As someone who can find shopping for baby items a bit overwhelming so many brands, features, etc., I really appreciated Cecil's approach and how he helped me understand the different options so well. Thank you Cecil!!!
Josh from the Richmond Hill store was incredible. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to find and order my item, tried online first and then their central customer service phone line, he found the last one in stock and got this order done for me. And… he even offered to drop it off himself at the closer West Coast Kids location to me. How amazing is that? And all the while, he was pleasant and funny and warm, sharing anecdotes and making me laugh. Now I want him to be my bestie. So if you’re headed to this store, ask for him. He’s lovely. We had a fantastic experience at West Coast Kids purchasing our new car seat! The store had a great selection, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable and patient while helping us choose the right fit for our family.nA special shout out to Cecil, who went above and beyond to make the whole process easy and stress-free. Cecil took the time to answer all our questions, explain the features clearly, and made sure we felt confident in our purchase. Excellent customer service from start to finish — we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
