I discovered Wellesley Animal Hospital while volunteering for a dog rescue who partnered with them. I was so impressed by the level of care, and attention to detail, that the Wellesley team provides, that I made the decision to switch vets. Since my dog has been a patient at Wellesley, she has had some health issues, that were thoroughly and carefully investigated. The medical team at Wellesley does a wonderful job of clearly communicating their concerns, and giving many options for treatment. Their staff are incredibly caring and knowledgeable, and absolutely wonderful with animals! I've also used their grooming services many times, and Fluffy Tails does not disappoint! They are so incredibly patient with my anxious pup, and she looks forward to seeing Mari & team every time! From the reception team, to animal care attendants, to techs, vets, groomers, and everyone in between, the staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital have become an extension of our family, and I trust them implicitly with the care of my precious pup! Thank you Wellesley for always providing such care and attention to Amy :
Great Animal Hospital in downtown Toronto. Great installations and big jump from the small clinic on Wellesley St. Top professional and dedicated vets, RVTs and staff, lots of different dog and cat services available including pet grooming, modern equipment and pet loving staff. Not much you can improve in it all. Congratulations.
The staff and vets here are wonderful. Really friendly and genuinely care about your pets. We always have a great experience and our most recent visit was no exception. They took such good care of my sick cat and she’s feeling so much better!
Front desk is always helpful, efficient and very friendly. All doctors and support stuff are incredible and always attentive. Helped us with all emergencies with our dog. Best vet clinic!
My pet and I had a poor experience with Wellesley Animal Hospital. The technicians were kind and helpful, but the vets were not patient and pushed a variety of sponsored products at us. Vets claimed to be too busy to see me in person and instead did phone consults, or Googled information about what was wrong in front of me during appointments. Vets never called me back, never explained anything to me clearly, never answered my questions and overall just didn't care very much about me or my animal. A routine 1 hour appointment once took over 4 hours to complete, and WAH have a history of taking my pet for a quick procedure and then holding them for the entire day. I've had to call numerous times asking if I can take my pet home yet, to which they responded they'd finished hours ago and that my pet had just been sitting there for the entire day. My pet was sedated in order to have blood taken, which is absolutely absurd and unnecessarily stressful for the animal. Staff administered incorrect doses of medication, and overall my experiences at WAH left my pet very stressed and traumatized by medical visits. This clinic also charged extremely high rates, it's very expensive to take your animal here. I've since closed my file and found a better vet, and would advise others to avoid this clinic.
Our 11 month old Boston Terrier Fergus, suddenly had a blue/grey cloudy eye. We were obviously alarmed as it came on fast was something we had only seen in older dogs. Our first dog, we were worried about him loosing his sight, or even worse his eye and in a panic to act fast and have someone look at his eye. Quickly we learned most clinics in the area were at max capacity and could not take a look at his eye. Upon the kind suggestion of our regular vet we advised to explore going to the VEC Veterinary Emergency Clinic on Yonge Street Toronto, but upon doing so were advised they too were re-routing emergencies due to max capacity of emergencies. Luckily, through Google we came across Wellesley Animal Hospital who kindly were able to fit him in. We are grateful for the team at this clinic. They worked quickly with our regular vet who we later learned is a sister company to our regular vet to get Fergus' file and make this a seamless process for us. They welcomed us like a regular client, took him in and quickly examined him and provided an assessment and treatment to his eye. The front desk team were warm, welcoming and unprompted asked if they could submit our invoice to our insurance company. They also sent the files back to our regular vet, who we already had had a follow-up appointment ensuring again, a seamless flow of communication - making our lives so much easier. Knowing how many dogs are in the city, I am thankful to now have two incredible clinics we can go to should we need one in the future. We could not have had a better experience with this clinic and all the team members working there and thank you all, if you're reading this. We are not sure where our dogs sight would be, had you not taken him in. I would not hesitate to recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital clinic and would definitely return there to anyone looking for a clinic for their pet regular or "emergency" visit. These people love what they do and love animals and it shows in their detail and care. Fergus thanks you all.
This animal hospital has zero knowledge about cat friendly practices. Our cat had a rare fungus infection that they had never treated so we did research on our own, their recommendations were against all we found and what we discussed with other vets our cat has lived in Colombia and Chicago so we reached out to his previous vets. We switch to the cat clinic which offer a treatment path consistent with what the other vets had said but in opposite direction to what the vets at Wellesley animal Hospital said. As soon as they got the request for the medical history from the cat clinic they refused to give us the prescription we needed for our cat our cat has lymphoma and needs Prednisolone for life, they told us we were going to get the prescription and when got the request said that it was no necessary to give him this medication, which is not true. They got our cat for 30 minutes while our cat screamed and they couldn’t get a blood sample to do the blood work necessary. At the cat clinic it took then 15 minutes and got all the blood sample they needed for the blood work. If you have a cat we highly recommend not using this vet, go to the cat clinic. If your concern is price, cat clinic has blood work for 165+ tax while Wellesley animal hospital has it for 200+ tax. Our cat has several conditions so we have met multiple vets in three countries and never encounter such bad veterinaries like in this animal hospital.
This animal hospital is trying to make money by scheduling unnecessary physical exams during follow up vaccination appointment. The first exam was done less than a month from the date of the second appointment. I thought the second appointment would only be receiving vaccinations and I wasn’t informed there gonna be another assessment with the doctor. After receiving the bill, there was a line item of 94 dollars, they claimed it as their policy to perform doctor assessment for each visit, even if it is just a vaccine appointment. If you don’t want to be scammed by their policy of necessary doctor assessment, please stay away from this clinic.
I need to post a public review about this place because I honestly have not come across staff nicer than the people here. My emails are always answered so quickly, I have no issues getting appointments for my two cats, and everyone is so great with them when we go there. I came to Toronto with no idea where to find a new vet and I could not be happier with this place : seriously some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced
