Home of the original “Smiley Cookie” Warner’s Bakery is a fan favorite for its old-fashioned recipes created using fresh ingredients and no preservatives.
History
Warner's Bakery was established in 1949 by Mr. Ellsworth Warner after years of working in cooperation with Mr. Harry Coburn of Coburn's Bake Shoppe in the 1930's. Throughout its early years, the bakery gained popularity for its iconic “Smiley Cookie”. Jim Broadhurst, a local cookie connoisseur, purchased the recipe and in 1986 introduced it as the face of his restaurant group, “Eat ‘n Park”. As the cookie’s fame grew throughout the Pittsburgh region, the bakery was eventually reopened in 2011 by Mr. Larry and Kathy Licht, a veteran couple from Venango County. Today, the original bakery equipment is still used to produce Mr. Warner’s timeless recipes. From Ma’s Marble Cake to tasty chocolate-dipped long-johns, there’s certainly something here for everybody. Whether you’re back to taste your favorite old memories of Titusville or you’re looking to fall in love with today’s new sweet treat, Warner’s Bakery is here to please every taste bud.
Mission
The hometown bakery’s mission is to provide the highest quality products using only clean, pure ingredients at affordable prices for the local community. Excellent customer service and neighborhood involvement are essential; some philanthropic interests include providing donations to local schools, church groups, and to the town’s annual Oil Heritage Festival.
