Wonderful place, walk friendly, lot of nature walks around, walk over the bridge and alongside the river as well. Close to Alberta Parliament. Lit during night. There is a viewpoint on the other side of bridge opposite viewpoint to see the colors of Edmonton Downtown. Must see!
Beautiful, simple yet elegant bridge structure with separate walking bridge attached to it, very thoughtfully designed! Great for morning or evening walks with friends and family.
I admire the bridge everytime I drive on it. I love taking my kids to the River Valley and we have to cross this bridge every time! It is nice that the city spent some extra money to make it recreational for Edmontonians.
Such a stunning piece of infrastructure architecture. The northbound bridge on the Walterdale Bridge is a blessing. The ever troubling interaction of Walterdale Hill and Queen Elizabeth Park Road has always been a nightmare. But the new bridge with the four wide lanes of traffic has alleviated so many backed up nights waiting to head north to 105 Street. Also space for pedestrian traffic is extremely generous on both sides of the bridge.
One of the highlights of coming downtown is the Walterdale Bridge. It's architecturally and aesthethically pleasing especially during the morning hours.
Beautiful structure of the city. The bridge has a biking and walking lane and part of the Edmonton River Valley Trails.
Nice bridge but I miss the bumpy one, if ya know you know
One of the attractions in Edmonton. They have added lighting for tourists, so visit after dark. Lighting ensures you have great pictures for social media. Parking is a challenge. Will have to park a few blocks away and walk. Bridge itself is not very long. There was a lot of Police presence. Not sure if that happens everyday.
Great for taking photos during daytime. It also looks great at night. There are paths around the bridge so you can view it from all angles.
Newest old bridge in the downtown river valley. There was an old Walter Dale bridge that was about 100 years old so the City of Edmonton finally got a new bridge built in much the same spot and kept the same name. It’s a beautiful dynamic bridge that is already iconic. The sweeping lines of the bridge are pleasing to the eyes and its simple design is just right for the river valley. June 20, 2020 returned to the bridge to enjoy the sites. The last time I was here the large open walkway was not open yet on the east side, now that it is open it is awesome. The pedestrian bridge is amazing. This is an amazing bridge that is accessible for all and has many trails leading to it. I recommend coming here and enjoying the sights.
