Nice views of changing leaves and mountains but probably would be best to go in late fall/ winter. When I went, there were numerous spider webs that attached to our face and arms within 2 minutes of starting the trail... It continued the whole way through. There were portions where we sprinted through just to get it over with but either way you were covered in spider webs. Also, Everytime we took a step, we'd see grasshoppers jumping from all different directions. Lastly, because of the swamp, I bet this place is infested with mosquitoes during the summer which is why late fall or winter would be the best time to do think hike. Since the trail is flat and practically a square around the swamp this would be without a doubt an easy trail even if it were covered in snow. If you go, there's a cool brewery about 5 minutes down the road on the NY side. They even allow dogs.
Saw lots of birds, especially red-winged blackbirds. It was a nice walk on flat terrain. The boardwalk leads into some lush green areas...feels other-worldly, like you might see a pixie hiding under a giant leaf!
It was quiet, and a nice walk. I observed a lot of birds, ducks, and dogs. Everyone is friendly. I enjoyed the peace, tranquility and beautiful views.
It's a great place to hunt if you are handicaped. There is a lot of . People who plan on visiting the Wall kill refuge need to get a visitor pass which is good for 1 year.
Very relaxing and peacefull trail ...there are ducks all over the ponds..and birds...scene is just beautiful...the trail is clear that you can even run.
The trail is easy to follow and is well maintained. It's also a great area to see wildlife. I would suggest wearing a hat since there is not alot of shade.
It leads you nowhere, not much to look at everything is overgrown it's a nice flat Trail for like exercising or maybe a bike ride but it's not very appealing probably won't be back.
A path through grass I was not expecting. Nice views lots of mosquitos in certain spots. Just not the type of hike I wanted but glad I did check it out.
Magical day for this Angler. Make noise to keep bears at bay. Be smart.
Very beautiful, great for kayaking, or fishing. A great place for good pictures.
