Really nice, small swim beach and decent concession stand. The bathrooms/changing rooms were clean. Everything was handicap accessible and I saw there was a beach wheelchair available for rent. Tons of great trails as well as access to the Appalachian Trail. The drive to the summit is really pretty with plenty of places to pull over and have a picnic. The views from up top are special. You can see all of Sussex, Port Jervis and Delaware River. We came at a time the tower was open but fear of heights only got me up a couple of flights and my chubby self turned around. Beautiful inside. I love to come here with my elderly parents as there’s plenty of places I can drive them to.
Beautiful state park to explore. There is so much beautiful scenery at this park it can be overwhelming at times. The spots down by the water and walking trails are great for walks. We even found an open field later right before sunset with amazing views. Late in giving review . Had visited for fall… the experience was amazing.
Beautiful place to visit and explore. Views are spectacular especially from the monument terrace. There are planty of hiking trails all around, playgrounds for children,there is one area with the lake where you can swim and beach with bathrooms near by. Planty of BBQ and picnick tables. In the winter I saw ppl on their skies doing cross country skiing. Bathrooms in the winter are heated which is absolutely great when it's freezing outside and it can very windy up by the monument area. It is definitely worth the drive just for the views itself.
High Point is a family tradition of bbqs, swimming, blue berry picking and hiking. As a photographer it’s a dream! From nature photography to beautiful scenic backdrops. I love this park!
Beautiful, beautiful! What an enjoyable hike up to the tower. We tried to climb it but my friend got vertigo and we had to go back. No biggie as the views even from the ground are tremendous. The day we went, the weather was very variable with sun and passing rain showers. It was awesome and made for dramatic photos. We loved it and will definitely return. Perfect Autumn getaway trip. My only complaint is the yellow tower marker was missing from a very important spot on the trail at a fork and we had to turn around and retrace steps when we realized we weren't seeing anymore markers.
Large state park with extensive trail network of varying difficulty. Monument trail leads to highest point in NJ with great panoramic views. Several lakes including one with swimming. Appalachian trail runs through it.
Nice state park. Great views. Was not able to go into tower as was closed. Hiking trails you can hike or drive to the tower we hiked from parking lot by bath house to tower. Other hiking trails in park. Nice picnic area and playgrounds for children. Will return when tower is open during the summer. Visited nov.2021 during off season
Beautiful park to explore. There’s so much to see here. Plenty of places to relax by the water and have a picnic. Lots of trails to explore. Lots of parking places and restrooms onsite. The monument is gorgeous and can be seen from just about any place in the park. Definitely stop in if you are in the area! Views are plentiful here!
Beautiful place to visit. Parking was free on Friday. Lake is a bit low right now only down side. Good for kids but not for real swimming around.
Was a really nice place to visit. The view here are astonishing. Thank you to all service members for their Sacrifice for my freedom's.
