Mike had arranged everything for my father and I after my mothers passing. From meeting up with him until the day of her memorial, everything went great. The ladies at the front desk were helpful & kind and the gentlemen at the service were amazing and made us feel so at ease. The service itself was more than we expected. The food was amazing too. I know my mother would’ve been happy with everything. Also after the fact I did some research and Voyage along with some other funeral homes in the city do own their own crematoriums. Many have 3rd parties doing that for them. I felt very relieved knowing my mother was in their care the whole time. I understand the funeral industry is a business but Mike and his staff definitely don’t make you feel like just another number coming through. I don’t hope to be visiting the facility again anytime soon for obvious reasons but this is definitely the place I would chose for myself or another loved one.
Our family had 3 terrible experiences with Voyage Funeral Home after the passing of my mother in law. I never intended on leaving a review. I was content with never recommending them until I saw #3 and I now feel that I should warn others about this place. 1-when I called to say they had printed her obituary wrong, they had her death date and birthdate reversed, the receptionist was a little snarky with me stating that it must be what the family wanted. I personally had a hand in writing the obituary so I was very offended as we didn’t put those dates at the top of it, it was Voyage. Yes, after the second phone call to them it was fixed properly. 2-the urn. The urn my mother in law came home in must have had a manufacturing flaw/defect that we believe caused it to crack along the weld/join due to a temperature fluctuation. When my husband called to remedy the situation he was given a complete run around. Eventually after many back and forth phone calls Voyage offered to sell us a new urn at Half Price...my husband persisted until they agreed to replace the urn. When I took my mother in law and her urn for an exchange the director met with me and very vocally/loudly tried to make it all seem like it was our fault that the urn was broken..he began with “I can smash them on the floor and they won’t break..” I was mourning my mother in law’s death and to have someone like him raising his voice at me and accusing me of breaking a metal urn but saying he wasn’t accusing me all in the same sentence was very overwhelming. Long and painful story short they exchanged the urn. Before I left I made a point of showing the dints and defects on the new urn to the director and to the camera recording the whole thing.yes, problem solved but with great effort that shouldn’t have had to happen and lasting anxiety from being yelled at 3-they got her date of passing wrong on the death certificate I am a caretaker of a cemetery and have never heard of anyone having such issues with a funeral home. Nobody should be treated with such disrespect especially when they are heart broken and grieving the loss of a loved one.
I waited over a week for a call back. Voyage didn’t notify me that they were picking up my brother from the hospital. I was given the run around and the receptionist was rude and short with me when I would call trying to reach someone. In a time of grief, you shouldn’t have to be chasing someone down. We finally gave up on them, and told them not to bother picking up my brother, and we went to Ethical care, who treated us with respect and we’re quick and so good with communication. I would never recommend Voyage!
I would like to thank Mike and his staff for making a difficult time much easier. He was there every step of the way and provided all the information we needed. He was very patient, caring and respectful and made sure all the details were taken care of.
Mike handled the arrangements for both my Parents. He offered comfort and compassion during a very difficult time. Voyage provided death certificates, forms and information to help close out their affairs. I would recommend Voyage to friends and family.
I wrote a review years ago back when I lost my sister. I posted my review stating that we felt rushed at her service and that her make-up wasn't good, I posted mine and others honest experience Instead of calling and going "I saw that you left a negative review, would we be able to talk about your experience?" or anything similar read: empathetic instead, he callsharasses my mom, who just lost her daughter suddenly and is still grieving, and is basically yelling at her to get me to take my review down I did take it down, I was 16 and grieving the loss of my sister and didn't want to add any unnecessary stress to my mom Shame on you for how you handled the situation & for how you treated my mother, I hope you gained empathy & know how to take criticism now without flying off the handle like you did 10 years ago Would NEVER recommend
Simply rude. We felt so rushed, the makeup was not done well. Then we posted an honest review and you called us to harass us to remove the post. Is that appropriate to do to a family when they are grieving? I would not recommend this place to anyone
I could not imagine the experience at such a place could somehow be so comforting. Our appreciation for the way our family was treated goes way beyond any review could show. Thank you to Mike and all staff who went above and beyond for my family. You truly are the best.
Voyage funeral home was professional and compassionate to my family with arrangements for the funeral for my dad. Definitely the place to go when dealing with the loss of a loved one.
Thank you Jenny for all the guidance and professionalism you provided me during a most difficult time. My mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. I didn’t know where to begin. I started calling around only to find that pricing often varied amongst funeral homes with no explanations of costs involved. I was quoted $4725.00 for the same service that I paid $1680.00 at Voyage. From the moment I spoke with Jenny, her compassion, honesty and knowledge was evident. I immediately felt that Voyage Funeral Home would provide me with the utmost care and attention needed at this time. They exceeded my expectations along with providing me very affordable pricing with NO hidden costs what so ever. I would, without a doubt, highly recommend Voyage Funeral Home with all of your funeral arrangements.
