So I've had many of my friends telling me that I need to to try Voodoo taco. Today I finally decided I would visit this establishment, I went to the one located at Nebraska Crossing. I ordered Barbacoa taco, brisket burrito, zombie tots. The Barbacoa and the zombie tots were both Savory and sweet, a lot of restaurants try this and fail horribly, one or the other overpowers and you lose the other flavors doing it. With that said, this place pulled off Savory and sweet perfectly. The Barbacoa was excellent, they are also fairly large tacos so your value for price is very good. It had a good hearty Savory flavor about the barbecue sauce gave it a little bit of tang with some sweetness. The tater tots were absolutely amazing, they are smaller than normal tater tots and that's fine because you get plenty of them, and I think by doing it this way it brings a little more flavor to the plate. The brisket burrito was very good, I'm not necessarily a burrito guy because burritos are not authentic Mexican food LOL, but what they're doing here is more of a Tex-Mex so it works, actually Tex-Mex might not be correct, it's kind of an alternative version of Tex Mex with what's offered and the flavors but nonetheless it is excellent. Back to the burrito LOL, flavor was good portion size was excellent and it had almost day hint of bourbon that resonated at the back of the throat which gave it a little more depth than you would normally get. I also tried the mild sauce, it is your typical mild sauce so it's nothing new or something you need to worry about trying thinking it could be too hot, it is truly a mild sauce which works great. One thing I do want to add, I'm a huge fan of avocado and a lot of times with Mexican restaurants in America, they often neglect the placement of an avocado slice, this place nailed it perfectly. Overall five-star, I will be back, this place was above and beyond what I had expected. Those of you that follow my reviews know that sometimes I can be very brutal in my honesty, if you want an awesome taco, this place truly delivers. Next time I believe I will stick with just the tacos because that's in their name, and I will try one of everything so that I can do a more extensive write up next time I visit...
If you're in the area you need to try this place. The barbacoa nachos are fantastic! My wife and I loved them! Also, shrimp and voodoo taco were excellent!!!Food: 5/5
It's fine, but is a mess. Floors in dining room are filthy, register area is dusty and a mess, soda fountain drain is full and gross, bathrooms haven't been cleaned ever? As demonstrated by at least ten empty TP rolls present and overflowing trash. They got an extra star for the kitchen staff's concern for our order. Food was fine. Nachos were cold. Tater tots flooded the food tray with fryer oil.
The other reviews for this are somewhat correct. The gentleman at the register could have better customer service skills. He's very snappy, asks for your order 3 or 4 times and still messes it up. Food came out in minutes. Red flag for sure. He then asked what sauce I wanted, then threw them in the bag. 1 of them opened and got on everything. I drove 5 minutes to my hotel. All my tacos were lukewarm at best. And for over $5 each for small tacos, it's a steep price for small portions and especially basically cold and sloppy tacos. I couldn't tell the difference between 2 of the 5 I ordered. The taco of the month was okay. As well as the Barbacoa of whatever. The alligator and fried chickens were all very subpar. This was at the Nebraska crossing location on a Saturday night. It was also like 90 degrees and very hot in there. I also grabbed a sweet tea from their machine dispenser. It tastes down right awful. Based on all the reviews I read, I should've had a better experience than I did all around. I had a buddy with me and shares all my above statements on subpar expensive cold tacos thay were all mush.
Some of the best tacos around! I loved the different options for food.Food: 5/5
Kathrine I think the name was on the receipt, was very polite and efficient. Look to be only 2 employees working. It took a little longer than previous times but I can understand that with a small staff. Unfortunately my husband said there was no seasoning on the ghost pork taco. He has gotten this everything we have come and he could tell it was just missing. But I had picked it up to go so there wasn't anything that could really be done since we live 15 -20 mins and didn't have time to go back.
I like their Tacos. I like the gator. Appears to be some kind of sausage. They also have chicken. They have a vegetarian choice, some kind of fruit I never heard of. I liked all three. They come on a soft shell. They give generous portions. Vegetarian options: They have some kind of fruit that has kind of a light meat like texture. Parking: It is a large shopping center. It has lots of parking on the edges of the shops. So it is a moderate walk from the parking
Visited Voodoo Taco last weekend. The place was very dirty and not one table clean. The person who took our order was very polite and effective. The guy that brought our food to the table smelled of the feces. We didn’t get the correct food and it was awful. The kitchen had 3 cooks so not under staffed. We were so disappointed. We left our food and walked out.
Loved the alligator salad! The food is always delightful. The lady taking orders was so nice and courteous even though they were super busy. Great place to eat.Food: 5/5
We did some work in this mall over 3 days. we came came here everyday!!! The general manager was very social, and helpful. Ordered the alligator sausage tacos and dirty bird on day one, fried avacado nachos. The rest of the days we just ordered the dirty bird it was So good. Also the Dona sauce is the bomb
