DO NOT STAY HERE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Read all the dates on the negative reviews. The same 4 dead fish are still stinking up the very small and dirty beach area. The same driftwood pollutes and crowds the beach. We stayed here for a few days. The bathrooms were filthy and rusting and smelled musty, moldy and dirty. To enter the campground you must buzz the office or the apartment upstairs so they can raise the gate. The gate is visible from both. The few times I buzzed them they answered YEAH. My campground tag was clearly visible. They should have just raised the gate. At no time during any interaction during my stay did they make us feel welcome. They acted as if we were interrupting them. I witnessed the cleaning crew ready a cabin for an incoming vacationer. The crew made sure to collect any wood that was left behind so they could resell it. They should have left it knowing campers were checking in. During my first day through last day on the ground very close to the bathhouse lay a dirty pair of underwear that someone probably dropped by accident. I witnessed on several occasions the workers on the golf carts drive past and over them without thinking of throwing them out. Basically all the reviews here by real vacationers all say the same things. Don't vacation here unless you want to be treated rudely by the male or female that handle the front office and hang up on you if/when you speak with them over the phone. Do not think of checking out before 9am. They will not answer you buzzing them. There is no mail slot or key drop for early checkout. So if you plan on checking out early and give the $10.00 deposit for a gate key, just like the other vacationer said, you lost your $10.00 I will not be returning.

Great place to RV Camp on Lake Erie with incredible views. Owners were great. Cell phone service was spotty. Internet was fine. Will be visiting again.

We absolutely loved our weekend stay. Beautiful and quiet. The cabin we stayed in was also amazing. Our two children absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Playing in and watching the waves down by the "beach" lake was beautiful. Wish we could have stayed for a longer amount of time Plan on going back soon and staying longer!

Okay, so I decided to do a new review of this campground after my last stay in September. My last review of the camp was 3/5 but I wanted to make some things clear and change my opinion of what I remembered. So looking at the other reviews you may be thinking if it's worth your time. Let's clarify some things. This is a basic needs campground, this means you have only what you need. Water, electric hookups (if you choose), very basic bath houses. Starting with the good. ABOVE PAR: The campground is well kept with friendly staff and there are both electric and water hookups for trailers. At night there are beautiful sunsets and you can watch the sun dip below the lake. The view across the lake is very nice as well. ON PAR: The beach is ok, there is sand off to the left but not too much. Most of the banks on Lake Erie are slate and smooth rock, which can be slippery at times. The dock is made of concrete, but extends far enough out to jump into the lake. (This will vary depending on water depth so always start in the shallows before deciding to jump). The dock also provides a nice place to set up a rod or two and fish. For kids there is also a small pond by the office if they aren't into big lakes. You can also get a $10 after hours pass to let yourself in if you plan to be out of the campground at night. This is refundable after you return it to the office. The owners can help you with more information on this. BELOW PAR: The bath house could be a little cleaner but it does the job. Also, there is no hot water for cleaning dishes, so you'll need to improvise by boiling some water and clean them that way. There is a nice fish cleaning station for convenience, but during hot days it does smell a little. (Light stomachs might have a rough time walking past it). Lastly, not that it's a bad thing, Wi-Fi is spotty here. You need to be close to the office to get it. Overall, this is a great camp to stay at. I recommend you at least try it.

This was a great campground and we will be back again! The campground is very quiet with beautiful views of the lake. There is a big open field between the lake view sites and lake front sites but everyone in our group thought that area was nice to have and the kids loved to play there. They could easily put another row of campers there but I think it would take away so much from the atmosphere of the campground. The bathroom/shower house was not the fanciest but there were two separate bathrooms in the womens side and then three shower stalls that were all clean. The beach is not a white sand beach but it's lake Erie, not Myrtle beach. We thought the beach was nice. The kids loved all the rocks and spent hours throwing rocks into the lake and building rock houses on the beach. It's not all rock either, there is sand too. Obviously the owners can not control the lake and it was high when we visited so we were only able to go to one side of the boat ramp but it was still very enjoyable. The playground is older at the campground but our kids (6 of them between the ages of 1 and 9) all enjoyed playing there and didn't complain about being bored. My only complaint would be the lack of water pressure. Some people mentioned the owners and I agree they might not be as friendly as some other places we've stayed but they also haven't been the worst. When I was checking in there was some tension between the guy checking us in and another guy that was wanting to direct campers to their sites. The guy I dealt with was not rude to me, just seemed stressed or annoyed. I figured it was internal problems and moved on with my day. If you follow the rules you won't ever hear from them. They occasionally drive around but they leave you alone to enjoy your stay. Overall it is a great campground in a wonderful location and I'm already checking the calendar and planning another weekend or two there next year.
