Have been going to vines for years. The prices are a bit higher than some places, but this needs to be said - The advice I get means I feel I am getting good value. I have not had a bad recommendation from the staff and I often buy products that are on sale. I bought a wine I really like last time I was in see pic that was very well priced and the advice I got on the gin was . It is worth a visit for sure.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They helped me pick out gifts and the wines were well received and enjoyed. Would definitely return to Vines!

William does an amazing job with the tastings. It's a must to experience. Generally not intimidating nor pretentious as some can be. I highly recommend Vines for a first timer tasting whatever is offered. Very friendly, light hearted and open to all palates. Yes theybencourage you to have your own opinion and what's YOU like and don't insist they know what's best for your palate.

A huge thanks to Steve for the whisky and cognac tasting event. Steve’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the topic and affable manner really set the tone for the meeting, and the guests really enjoyed the different drinks he chose for us. Interesting and quite palatable.

The staff at this establishment are a pleasure to deal with and they provide a service that is second to none. I enquired by email from Ottawa about organizing two separate Christmas gift selections to be delivered to family in Edmonton. I had a response back the same day with excellent suggestions and a completely professional quote. The staff then created beautiful presentations in baskets and delivered them to very appreciative recipients. I would not hesitate to patronize Vines-Riverbend Wine Merchants anytime in the future. I've always had outstanding service at Vines and their recommendations are consistently spot on. Last night I was in a pinch for time so I phoned in a request for a pairing with salmon and a rough budget. They selected a fantastic Pinot Noir and had it waiting at the counter for me. Best wine knowledge in the city and extremely helpful in selecting something that goes with your meal/event at all price points. Also fantastic whisky/rum wall - and they know their spirits!

I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the very best wine and scotch stores in Edmonton. Highly knowledgeable staff are very friendly and helpful. My 'go to' liquor store - even though it is on the other side of town from my home. Well worth the drive.
