Amazing. Wish it was in my town! Huge portions, cheap prices, great service. Greek warriors skillet, spanakopita Benny, and baklava pancakes were all absolutely delicious, I'll be thinking about them for a long time! Home fries had a little smokiness, yum. Coffee was great too. Very kind servers went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed for takeout stayed at motel next door. Adorable place, will absolutely go here again if I'm in the area! Forgot to take pictures of the food before we started, we were hungry and it was so delicious! Vegetarian options: Delicious options!
Ate breakfast there this morning after staying for the night at Scottish Inns right next door. How lucky were we to be able to walk through the parking lot to such a gem! It’s a vintage diner with friendly staff and GREAT food! We had omelets, French toast and corned beef hash! Everything was delicious and fresh! I need to go back because there are some unique offerings that I need to try! Our server Ashley was a doll! So sweet and attentive even as they were being slammed with a huge Saturday morning breakfast crowd!
I ordered the beefteki but with a beyond burger. So good! Everything was fresh, including the crispy red onions, and the fries!!! The fries were the freshest I have had in a while, and hot for the whole meal. I really love fries and these were worthy. Janine and staff were bright and helpful! Thank you, Village Diner, for a good warm meal.
January 18, 2023 - I’ve been driving past this diner for over 50 years. . . So glad my wife & I stopped for lunch! Pleasantly surprised by the friendly service & good comfort food! Located in Milford, at the PA/NY exit off Interstate 84. . . next to Matamoras, PA there’s a 1956 old fashion silver streamlined art deco looks like a train car Village Diner. Owners are Maria Pagelos Wall sister and Agisilaos Pagelos brother who purchased diner from father, Dimitrios Pagelos in 2000. Hey, they’re Greek, and their Greek specialties are authentic tasting Greek good! Our server Leah met us at the door with two menus, said, “ Sit where you’d like !” As I walked past the pies, cookies, and muffins, I asked if the baked desserts were homemade? Leah’s “ affirmative”, suggested I should save room for desserts! My wife ordered the half sandwich combo w/fries, and the cup of homemade minestrone! I ordered the Greek Gyro platter with fries, and tzatziki sauce! As we waited, I snapped some photos of this classic diner. Only waited about 10 to 12 minutes. . . took me a few seconds to realize the tzatziki sauce was on the bottom of my Gyro sandwich. True gyro meat is a blend of lamb and beef, with spices onion, garlic, rosemary, marjoram, thyme, salt, pepper, etc. . . . I thought my gyro was a bit over cooked, but still a marvelous Greek style taste! Five stars for a wonderful lunch ! Too full for desserts, oh well next time! Thanks to the cooks & Leah for a wonderful lunch ! What’s cool about this diner: 1. Open 7 days a week ! 2. Breakfast offered all day 3. Good selection eggs & breakfast entrees 4. Lunch offers soups & salads 5. Lots of burger selections 6. Real Turkey & Roast Beef sandwiches 7. Deli Club sandwiches 8. Quesadillas & wraps 9. Dinner offers old fashioned meat loaf 10. Steaks, Turkey dinners 11. Oven baked roast beef dinners 12. Pork chops 13. Comfort meals , “ not fancy stuff “ 14. Most desserts are homemade! 15. Ice cream milkshakes & frappes 16. Old fashioned Root Beer Floats * Fun Facts* Back in 1938, Les Daniel & Henry Strys started the Mountain View Diners Company! They sold 400 of these silver lined train car style diners across the United States . Their company closed in 1957 . * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Officially, Greek people have told me that a “ G” in Greek is pronounced as “ H” ! Your Gyro sandwich is pronounced as “ Hero” sandwich!
stopped in for breakfast on way back home to NC from CT. Nice old Diner and decor. Food was ok, nothing special. ordered corned beef hash and eggs. corned beef was a little hammered over cooked and dry. home fries were a bit skimpy in terms of portions. I'd try it again, just not breakfast Parking: ample parking
I love that they have a more interesting menu than your average diner. The service was very friendly and fast. We were in a rush so this was appreciated. They have outdoor dining if you're not feeling safe or if you're not vaccinated. The food was exactly what you'd expect at a diner.
Excellent little diner I was staying in the hotel next door and had a burger and fries for dinner and I had eggs home fries and toast for breakfast. It was excellent in the atmosphere was great.
Excellent little spot right off the highway--great meeting place between upstate New York and the Poconos. A lot of traffic whizzing by the parking space, and a little bit of a wait for service but well worth it. The food was very flavorful and creative the baked goods cookies and desserts available where extensive. My omelette was tasty and fluffy and fresh. Not an accessible space however. Parking: Right off a very busy road. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible. No accessible bathroom women's room at least
Went for breakfast. Food was good, eggs over easy were done PERFECTLY. Between the 2 of us we had the country fried steak and corn beef hash, both were pretty good. Wouldn't classify the meal as blow your socks off but the foods worth stopping for and going back. Staff was nice, alil too hot in there though, was borderline uncomfortable. Easy off easy on highway access and nice view of the Pocono mountains especially during fall.
A great retro style diner staffed by courteous, attentive staff, serving fresh and delish good.Food: 5/5
