The Village Baker opened July 2011 with Sara & Oran Rathbun serving locally sourced homemade food. Our founders wanted to create an eclectic atmosphere that would bring our community together through delectable dishes and casual dining. Since then, our chefs have been serving both quality interpretations of classic dishes and new ventures into the uncharted territories of food.

The Village Baker's interior, filled with second hand and hip sensibilities, was pieced together by Sara herself and reflects the cosy and romantic style of our surrounding area. The restaurant offers choices of comforting custom pizzas, perfectly unique bread options, and memorable sandwich combinations. Spanning across menus that delve into breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you'll be sure to find exactly what you were looking for in a small town restaurant.

The pizza is unique, but great! We came for the pizza, but also enjoyed some of those famous bakery treats. Great service and amazing food!

The vibe here is Napa wine country chic, only we have it here in W. Michigan. An amazing little under the radar bakery and restaurant serving breads and sweet treats, gourmet sandwiches and artisanal pizzas. Vegetarians can order without searching obscure corners of the menu board. Some menu items like pizzas available only during certain times of day. Location is small, each order carefully prepared, be patient.

Neighborhood bakery...wonderful breads (cranberry walnut, chocolate cherry-2 of my favorites; fabulous pizza, amazing breakfast menu...salads, burgers, soup and sandwiches. .most are fresh, healthy ingredients..oh, Magnum coffee..amazing drink menu, including wine and craft beers...

 amazing place!  I LOVE the molasses cookies.  The French toast was awesome!  Muy husband's breakfast sandwich was incredible! Plus i found the perfect gift for my best friend!  The French baguette bread is pull apart and so chewy and flavorful!  I can't say enough great things and our waiter, George, was awesome!
