We have moved many times over the past 38 years, and without a doubt, VT Moving & Storage provided the best moving experiences we have ever had. We have used this company several times. The movers have always been extremely careful with our belongings, and they were always courteous, professional, friendly and extremely efficient. For our most move, the movers were Kevin, Tristan, Zeff and Jason - all are excellent and we thank them! Jennifer in the office is always prompt to respond, helpful and very patient as she provides many answers to us. Our estimates have been very close to the actual cost, so no surprises. I recommend this company without reservation.

Terrible packing and moving skills. I hired them to pack and move me. They don't know how to pack. They damaged multiple books by tossing them into boxes. They repacked a book box I packed in order to throw, and YES, I DO MEAN THROW, watches and other items from my bookcase headboard in. Why? I was paying for the boxes, so I don't understand why they didn't tape together another one. They rolled the covers of multiple Vermont history books. They tore the dustjacket on an exhibition catalogue, which is no longer available to buy. They bent the page corners of a collectible book. They did that by putting it in a box full of file/magazine holder organizers full of Vermont booklets. What were they thinking?? Professional packers? My foot! I had a metal window air conditioner. Where would it make sense to put it? On the floor? Nope. I had just installed new carpet. Perhaps they put down packing paper to protect the carpet? Nope. Perhaps on a sturdy box? Nope. They opted to put it on top of my Grandmother's highboy! And they didn't even protect it by putting packing paper underneath! A friend took it down for me. In fact, my friends were as horrified as I at the work they did. Heavy boxes were stacked on top of fragile ones. Really?? The rim of an antique was slightly broken, about which I informed them. Did they take extra packing precautions? No. They just wrapped it in packing paper, put it in a box with other fragile antiques and layered a newer record player on top of the antiques. The rim broke even more. There was broken glass in the packing paper. They bent an original watercolor in half and actually tried to fix it by trying to unbend/straighten it! As if! They took the bathroom vanity's drawers, turned them upside down and dumped the contents into a box. I had several items neatly stored together. Plus, we're talking about several medical supplies I needed to use daily. I had to purchase those supplies again because it took several days before I found them. After all, why label all the boxes, right? They placed my bed with one long side against the wall. Besides the fact it wasn't that way in my apartment, what adult wants their bed like that?? I don't know, either. I contacted the manager about these things. She told me "this never happens". That said, she did send out two of the guys to move things around. The one with 5.5 YEARS of experience with this company, stated "when this happens, we take it back to the shop and fix it". Clearly, this DOES happen. (Also according to him, they fix furniture in their shop.) I had not purchased the insurance because THEY PACKED ME. They offered me 60 cents on the dollar for my damaged items. However, not a single book was allowed. After all, rolled/bowed covers could be put between other books to flatten out again. They included the book with bent corners. Obviously, they've never experienced humidity. Obviously, they don't comprehend that once bent, pages can't be fixed. Obviously, they don't realize putting books tightly together causes rubbing and damages the covers. Would I EVER hire this company again? NO!! I have already warned my friends. This moving company's lack of care and even knowledge on how to pack and move is astonishing. So, I am now warning you to stay away. You're better off packing your things, loading your vehicle and leaving what doesn't fit behind before wasting your money on this exceptionally expense moving company with employees who obviously don't care and don't have a clue about how to do their jobs! By the way, this was MONTHS ago. I am finally able to review now because I've been so understandably angry and upset. My expectation was they would do the kind of work they'd want someone to do for their belongings. Obviously, silly me. I wish negative stars were an option. Given the five star rating scale, this company deserves negative 500!

Amazing movers! We used them for both our downtown Burlington office move as well as moving our house. The quote came in exactly as discussed. The crew was on-time, courteous, smoke-free and did a fantastic job with both moves. Highly recommend them. Jennifer and her crew rock!

I called several times before actually booking a truck; each time the quoted price was a different amount ranging from $150-200 for storage and as much as $25-40 (over the phone) for each time the mobile unit was moved, to a cost of $51 on the actual quote emailed to me. Albeit slightly annoying, I was fine to deal with all of that, as the mobile unit storage service is something that other movers' in the area don't provide or charge much more for. However, once I finally booked a unit, I received a call the next day saying that they had overbooked and didn't actually have a unit for me. Every time I had called before this, including two days before I booked, I was assured that they had many units left available and it wouldn't be any trouble at all. It seems like they have poor communication between employees answering the phones and those actually working in the warehouse. Overall, extremely disappointing and I'm left to scramble to find another option.

The actual cost was only ~$40 higher than the quote. I spent 16 hours of my own time packing and moving small belongings. Be cautious of the quote provided and make sure to ask if the amount you are quoted includes packing time and materials for small belongings. If I hadn't spent the time to move my own small belongings the actual cost would have likey been much much higher than the quote. They padded the furniture well in the truck. No major damages. Young movers. Good communication throughout the process. The receipt says they started at 7:30 but I find that hard to believe since they started moving at 8:45 and its about a 50 minute commute from the office to my source home. I would have expected the start time to be 8:00. Overall good service but more expensive than I expected.
